Error message: Pri Slave Hard disk A S.M.A.R.T. ERROR has ben detected

Your hard disk might be dead due to sudden power cut or may be a shock on the hard disk while it was working due to an accidental hit on the c.p.u. You can give it to a computer mechanic to test the drive if its working or not. If not then you may check its warranty period and if its over you have no other option than replacing it. I also had the same problem with my hard disk.

I received the following error on my HP Pavilion laptop: SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 4: WDC WD2500BEVS-60UST0-(S1) Warning: Immediately back-up your data and replace your hard disk drive. A...

SMART is used to measure your HDD health. It warns you of impending failure of your hard drive. If it goes down, it's a good idea to backup important stuff and prepare to replace the HDD.

S.M.A.R.T is an acronym for Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology systems (SMART) and it's usually built in to most modern ATA and SCSI hard disks.
If you need further assistance, feel free to ask. If this answers or solves your issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe

Smart test failed on the drive

A smart failure warning is an internal hard disk drive self-diagnostic that will help predict a failure of the hard disk drive. Any system that is displaying a SMART error should immediately have any important data backed up as the drive is not reliable and is impending failure if it hasn't failed already.
Resolution is hard disk drive replacement, Generally around $100 depending on size and speed of replacement HDD

IIT IS SHOWING SMART FAILURE PREDICTED ON HARD DISK 2 THEN AFTER TRYING TO START IT SAID CRITICAL REPLACE HARD DISC DRIVE

HI There, you have hardware monitoring enabled (which ever vendor software you are using).
This error states there has been too many read/write errors. The disk is coping by writing to another area of disk, however it is confirming you WILL need to replace the drive in a controlled manner before the disks dies. Then this is uncontrolled and risk data loss.
if disk mirror or using raid 5, just swap out the faulty disk.
If it is the ONLY disk or no raid disk sets involved.
MUST backup your data.
Swap the faulty disk.
Rebuild and/or restore your data from your most recent backups. good luck...

Pri hard disk S.M.A.R.T BAD wont boot up what do i do

his could be caused by a couple of problems but you are going to need access to a second computer to determine the problem.

1) You have a disk that is failing and it has had an error. Got to the disk makers site and down load their diagnostic program and check the disk. This is a stand alone CD so you don't need to boot into the OS. SMART failures almost always are failing disks.

Another program that can temporarily fix errors is http://www.dposoft.net/ This program will stop after fixing the first error unless you buy it. Again, this is a stand alone.

If it is a disk error, you need to quickly get your data off and install a new disk.

Don't have a second computer? then you need to take it to a local computer store where they can remove the disk, install it in a desktop and check it for errors.

2) This could be a virus, but I think #1 is your problem. TrendMicro.com has a free online virus scan if you can install the disk in a second computer.

I AM GETTING AN ERROR FOR MY HARD DRIVE,ERROR BIOHD-8.COMPUTER WON'T WORK.

BIOHD-8 is an error code that refers to the hard disk SMART capability. So this is an indication that your hard drive might be failing or at least lost its' SMART capability. So you need to back up your data just in case. Enter your computer BIOS menu and check for HDD SMART capability and set it to Disabled. Restart your computer and try to go through the same things that made problems before. If your problems persist then you'll need to replace your hard drive.

When you turn the computer on it says SMART Failer predicted on hard disk 0: HTS54108G9SA00-(S1)

S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) is a diagnostic method originally developed by IBM that at that time referred to as "Predictive Failure Analysis". This technology was developed for IBM mainframe drives to give advanced warning of drive failures. Based on this diagnostic, Compaq announced IntelliSafeTM, which was submitted to the ATA/IDE standards committees and the resulting standard was named S.M.A.R.T.
S.M.A.R.T. analyzes many of the mechanical attributes; over time, some failures can be predicted by detecting if the hard disk drive is moving out of tolerance. While the S.M.A.R.T. technology can detect upcoming issues, not all hard drive failures are predictable.

All this means on most modern drives is the hard drive is coming close to the maximum tolerances

I usually switch off in the bios smart monitoring.

This system is trying to predict a possible failure, which may or may not occur..
