FinePix A340 Zoom has been specifically developed to reduce power consumption. The FinePix A340 Zoom has been specifically developed to reduce power consumption. The two AA alkaline batteries supplied with the camera deliver an impressive 220 shots under normal conditions.* Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are also available as part of the Fujifilm accessories range for even better battery economy, providing approximately 110 additional images before charging is necessary.

The information above is a guide for photography mode. Depending on the camera mode and the type of batteries
used, the transition from “C” to “V” may occur more quickly.
Due to the nature of the battery, the battery low warning may appear early when the camera is used in cold
locations. This is normal. Try warming the batteries in your pocket or a similar location before use.
    ✽ Battery level warning
    1) The camera’s estimation of the remaining battery charge varies greatly depending on the camera operation mode.
Consequently, even if “C” or “V” is not displayed in Playback mode, one of them may appear when you change
    to Photography mode.
    2) Depending on the battery type and the level of charge in the batteries, the camera may run out of power without first
displaying a battery level warning. This is particularly to happen when batteries that have run out of charge once are
In situation 2), immediately load new or fully charged replacement batteries.

    Power save function ◆
When this function is active, it turns off the LCD monitor to reduce power consumption if the camera is not
used for 30 seconds (➡P.50). If the camera is then left unused for 2 minutes or 5 minutes, the Power save
function turns the camera off. To restore power to the camera to take pictures, briefly close and then reopen
the lens cover. To play back images, hold down the “Playback” button for approx. 1 seconds.

Before buying your new battery . CHeck this out .

    Its very helpful.

    Anyway with the battery:

Hers most compatible with your battery :
2AA alkaline battery OR NH-10 Nimh.

Duracell or energizer would do fine. BUT why regular batteries when you can purchase rechargables NH-10 Nimh and wont have any issues with it anymore.

Good luck and hope everything that id post would help you.
PLs check your manual as posted above for more detailed description about your cool cam.

    Pls dont forget to rate me Fixya. :---}

As what ive researched on your cam unfortunately theres no way for you to change battery type mode on it Regular battery is the perfect option But its always cost effective to use a rechargeable battery - just make sure you would have more time to charge it and when your cam is not in use better to discharge you bat from you cam as it would still generate power.

Pls refer to he manual i posted as it is very useful.

You need to use regular batts, then change the setting to rechargable

because the rechargables only give off 1.2 volts per battery and regular batteries give 1.5 per battery, so if you had 4 batteries that are rechargeable its only 4.8v while standard batts would be 6v your camera should have a setting to change the battery type

just use standard batteries there should be a setting under the power options

With a new set of batteries in camera the red battery low symbol

Try cleaning the contact points in the battery compartment. If one or more of the contact points are soiled, the camera will react like that. If the problem is due to a short circuit, the batteries will get very hot, if they are discharged after a few seconds.

Fujifilm takes Disorted photos

How old are your camera and memory card? Both will eventually wear out. Digital cameras are generally good for so many shots. The same goes with the cards. I would personally try a new card and see if it helps.

the only wayi found to make the card accepted is to upgrade the firmware software, this can be downloaded from fuji website, and extract the file and copy it in the initial memory card supplied with the camera, then put bnewly charged batteries or ac adapter and on the camera holding the disp/back button. then it will show the option for the update, and then click ok . after installing ne firmware switch of the camera and put the new xd card on the camera and format the card. this will enable you to shoot inthe new card.

Here is where you can download a copy of the manual from:
Fuji S2 Manual
This is what the manual says about your error:
If FEE in in top display: "CPU Nikkor lens other than G-type
is not set to its minimum aperture. Fix: Set lens to minimum aperture."
If FEE is in viewfinder: "Attached flash is not set at TTL
Auto Flash in “P” mode. Fix: Set the external flash mode to TTL, or set the camera’s exposure mode to “S”, “A” or “M”."
Are you using a flash that attaches to the camera?
If not, then the problem is with the aperture setting. It looks like you would have to set the camera dial to M, for Manual, and use the ring on the lens to set the aperture.
The low battery symbol looks like a battery, all black when charged, half-black as power goes down.
This looks like a nice camera, hope I was able to help.

NEW Batts but keep getting low batt indicator and....

Sorry, no solution. Same problem here. I am very unhappy because initially it took great pictures. The first one I tried only worked a couple of days and I returned to store and they replaced. Second worked a couple of months and now immediately draws down power and won't work on new batteries. I was told to use NH-10 batteries (rechargeable). I did this from the beginning. Still won't hold charge.
