Yamata FY7568 Machine not sewing

I just bought a Yamata FY7568 sewing machine and it is not picking up the bobbin thread.

Make sure the correct needle is installed on the machine. Domestic needles will have one flat and one rounded side on the shaft. Make sure the flat side of the needle is on the back and the groove on the needle also being to the back.
You might also want to make sure the tip of the needle is not broken.
Other than that, your machine could be out of timing.
