More than one cause
first - have the transit bolts been removed? you can check this by putting your hand inside the drum and check it has movement.

second - if loaded with a load which won't balance, there will be more vibration. always try to wash a full load

third - select the spin program with no load and watch to see if the drum speed picks up slowly - ie doesn't burst straight into spin

fourth - check appliance drains properly

I have installed my new Bosch front loader on a bench and levelled as per instructions and spins perfectly empty but goes beserk with any clothes inside

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(How solid is the bench- probably not as solid as the floor?)

Although you say it's level I would recommend you try my method to make absolutely certain.
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor/bench (!), and I mean firmly ;-0)
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

(If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.)

Samsung Front Loader P801 5 years old - bangs and dances during spin even at low speed get error message E6 when it cuts out. No mention of E6 error in manual. Troubleshooting section of manual of no help....

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

First the 'E6'. The only Manufacturer's decode I have for Samsung 'E6' is 'water temperature rising/ falling too quickly, check thermistor'. I would go through the balancing act (detailed below) and then see if it recurs. If so it's a service call I'm afraid ;-0(

Now the dancing
Although you say it's level I would recommend you try my method to make absolutely certain before considering something inside ;-0)

My washer is rocking back and forth very violently during the spin cycle (medium) to where it knocks everything off when I put sometighing on top. I have called a repairman out 3 times and he says there's...

Check that the machine is level and that the leveling feet are not screwed out too far. If necessary, screw them back in and restart to level the machine. With a front loader it is more important to have the machine standing completely completely firm on all four its feet than to have it exactly 100% level. You must not be able to rock the machine by hand at all and the floor on which it is standing must be solid with no give in it at all.

Washer Tub Balance

A "professional" does not really balance the tub of a front-loader, they balance the washer. You can do this as well... there are 4 feet, just get a level and move feet up or down to get the machine leveled. Check the horizontal level and then the vertical level. Not too hard unless the feet, legs, are rusted shut in which case you can attempt to shim it up. The unit should not rock back and forth at all in any direction when it it leveled. Front loaders will vibrate, sometimes a lot, until they reach the full RPM of the spin, this is normal.

Washer vibrates vigously on high spin cycle.

I don't know what kind of washer you have (make, front loader, top loader, etc) but it sounds like your basket is definately out of balance. I have replaced bearings on a front loader Frigidare, but I have heard of some of them having broken arms on the inner basket. Something like that would definately cause a condition like you describe. Bearings usually give plenty of warning due to noisy operation.
My washer has no "transmission" , just a motor and drive pulley and a belt.
What kind of washer is it? Also, I know you said the washer was level, but are all four feet solid on the ground? Sometimes a washer can be level, but still rock on its feet if one of the feet is short.

I can not seem to balace the washer- it dances around the room on spin. front loader j1045 6mths old

Has anything changed? have you moved it? is it level? Check the level of it and if it is infact NOT level make it so.. If it IS level I would not play with it.. get a warranty repair tech out..
Hope this helps

Whirlpool duet sport..vibrates during spin and "walks"..on pedistal.sitting on tile

I just bought this washer and had two problems with it. 1 the vibration at medium spins and 2. a squeeking spring (every time the drum rotates a little squeek, but when spinning the squeek sounds constant.

What I discover in solving both my problems with the same solution. I had to ensure all 4 feet well on the ground and that the top of the washer was perfectly level. At one time I was out only about 2 mm on one side, but the bubble was slightly to one side on the level but still in between the level's markers. I tested with a load, and both problems were still there. Turn feet 1/2 turn on the side needing adjusting. Ran another load and you guessed it, no squeak, no vibration, spinning was quiet, I had to go over to check to see if the machine was going through the cycles. I couldn't believe that a few millimeters could make such a difference.

Now I am pleased with the performance, not to mention how clean the clothes are and the savings on water and drying.

I hate washing machines

check the suspension system. I am not familiar with this particular achine, but front loaders in general must have the straps put back on the tub when moved. if the unit recieved and hard drops or bumps it could have ruined/damaged the suspension causing it rock out of control. The suspension could be springs/ and or shocks, like a car

Walking during the spin cycle

Try placing it on a rubber mat or carpet that has a rubber backing. The floor may be too smooth and allows it to walk.
