Question about Whirlpool AKZ159IX Oven

Open Question

I am trying to replace the outer glass on my whirlpool akz451/ix/01 Ihave purchased replacement glass and removed the old glass but I cant see how the new glass attaches to the door? When I was removing the old glass it just peeled away from the frame, is this correct, because as far as I can see the old glass was held in place by just silicone or tape? If this is the case what type of silicone/tape will i need to buy to re-attach the new glass and will ineed to remove the whole oven door to replace the glass? Thanks in advance for any repsonses

whirlpool service center /agent will have a correct element for your unit
the shape is probably for a more even heat distribution in the oven as it will cover the floor/ top area of the oven better

Replace outer glass on oven gr440lxmc

You have to take the inner glass off first to get to the fixings for the outer glass. its normally 4-6 screws holding the frame for inner glass in place good idea to keep the parts in order for refix.

My name is jason and my oven glass door just disintegrated its a whirlpool akz451 its only 2 years old.

We had exactly the same thing happen to us, again our is 2 years old, and was fitted by persimmon before we moved in.
Seems to me that it may be a fault.
i tried calling whirlpool but they was having none of it - we got a local company in to change the glass.
this cost us just over £100.
was right before christmas so could of done without.
I'd be interested if this has happened to over as well.
