SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

It's easy enough for the switch to get moved accidentally, especially when inserting it into a card reader or a camera.

SOURCE: Memory card locked

I just got done fumbling around with the same problem. All you need to do is take the card itself out of camera and there's a mini switch on the side of the card that slides up and down for lock and unlock.

Take the card out. On the left side of the card is a tiny white switch. Reverse the position.

SOURCE: CARD LOCKED

There should be a small toggle along the end side (it is tiny and easily missed, but it is there, I just checked my memory card / mine is 4GB SD card from Sony) that you can swtich to unlock and your images may come back that way.

Look for it this way, hold the card face down it should be on the back edge where you use your thumb or finger to push it into the slot on your camera.

There is a tiny button on the side of the card - so small you can hardly see it. Just slide it up and voila All is solved.

Memory Stick Duo 512MB. Where are no pictures on the card, but it says that "were is no space" when I put it in the camera. What should I do?

First make sure the card is not locked. Do this by checking on the side of the card that the lock notch is not in the locked position. If it is not locked then you should put the card in your computer and reformat it. If this isn't successful then its time to go get a new card. You can get a new one for under $20.

Can I download pictures from internal memory directly to my computer for a NIkon coolpix S570 camera? The memory card I was using went bad and the camera displays "This card cannot be used"

You can connect the camera to the computer with the USB port. If there's no memory card in the camera, the computer should see the pictures in the internal memory.

Alternatively, you can get a new memory card (you're going to need one, right?) and copy the pictures from the internal memory to the card, then put the card into a card reader and transfer the pictures taht way.

Don't be panic. you can try some data recovery software. You can see
http://download.cnet.com/Asoftech-Data-Recovery/3000-2248_4-75328850.html?part=dl-75328850&subj=dl&tag=button
It tells the steps how to perform data recovery.

If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the memory card and recover your files.

They're still there, except the card has become corrupted, and is not readable by your camera. See if you can insert the card back in your laptop and save the pictures onto your computer. If your laptop doesn't recognize the card either, then you may need to use recovery software. In that case, see the corrupted card procedures in this link. Once you successfully recover your photos onto your computer, you'll need to format your card IN YOUR CAMERA to make it usable again. Finally, sorry but if you were intending to use the card to long term store your photos and display them using your camera, you will no longer be able to do that with the previously taken photos.

Well my camera is a Casio Exilim Anti-shake DSP. When i put all my photos onto my laptop i tried to put them back on the card. But after i tried i turned on the camera and it says "MEMORY FULL"...

Okay, you put your pictures on the computer hard drive but, the pictures will still be on the card until you format the memory card in the camera. So then you loaded the pictures back on the card so in fact you have two sets of the same pictures on the memory card maxing out the cared capacity. I doubt they will show on the camera because there will be different file formats one from the camera and another from the computer. So to clean things up first make sure you have your pictures on the computer hard drive then safely remove hardware or eject the camera memory card and unplug the cable. then go into your camera settings looking for "Format" might also say initialize but format is pretty well universal anyway find format and follow the screen. Formatting cleans off the memory card and reformat the card back to new to receive more pictures.

I have bought the philips 10.4 inch digital photo frame and im trying to put pictures on it and store them in the internal memory. When i put my card in it starts to install them but then says not enough...

Tough the picture frame states 1000 photos, it really depends on the size of the picture. To resolve this purchase a 2 or 4 gb memory card and download your pictures onto the card. You can insert the card in the slot of the picture frame and then connect to your computer and download your pics from your computer directly onto the memory card.

The card is probably formatted with a FAT16 filesystem. Try reformatting the card with a FAT32 filesystem.
