When I start printing a document the top is straight but about 3/4 down the page the document is not straight and it looks like the writing is too far from the left margin. I have checked to make sure the paper is straight and still comes out the same way.

Run the 1/2 print test. Print a few pages that have failed previously and as the printer is printing open the cartridge cover(top cover). Pull out the cartridge and look at the paper down below. If the page looks good, you probably need a new fuser. If the page is messed up you could have a bad transfer roller or another bad toner cartridge.
I would recommend uninstalling the installed driver from your system, disconnect the USB cable (if one is installed), reboot.
Once the system comes back up, turn off your anti-virus. Now install the printer driver again. Install the USB cable for the printer (if that's how you're connecting) and finish the install.
I believe this is going to be a software issue. Do a print preview of the booklet first to see if they are showing up in the right order. If they are, then it is a printer issues and I really can't help you there, but it they aren't then you know it might be a software issue. Check you formatting on the document before you trying printing it again.
Look at the hopper. It will almost certainly have a little graphic on it to tell you which way up the document goes.
If it looks like a sheet of paper with lines of writing on, the paper goes in print side up.
If it looks like a sheet of paper with one corner folded over, and lines of writing visible only on the turned over corner, then it goes in print side down.
If you can't find the graphic, then experiment: Take a blank sheet of paper. Write "Up" on one side and "Down" on the other then stick it into the machine so the writing is telling the truth. Most fax machines have a copy mode - use this to see which side of the paper the machine reads (if you can't get it to copy, fax your page to somebody and get them to phone back to tell you which side of the page they've received).
Look at the fuser, and see if you can see a bad area on the fuser roller, matching the position on the paper. I suspect a bad fuser. Fusers need to be replaced periodically, and typically via a maint kit which replaces several feed rollers as well.. How many pages have been printed.. Print a config sheet to display this information.
open your document and click print, then click on the properties button. Then click on the page layout tab and uncheck the collate button. This wil print each page on a new piece of paper, the collate option is to print on both sides of the paper.
