Oven temp hits about 50 degrees less than selected temp. The "Oven Heating" light and outer element go off but temp has not been reached. Center element does not come on during operation. Thanks, Barb

Thanks for the suggestions--we'll start with the heating element. Hopefully that will do the trick, but it's nice to have ideas of where to go next if needed.

Some model s you can adjust the tempt 30 t0 50 deg in 10 deg at a time . if your model will adjust then pull the oven knob off and look at inside and if there is adjustment that is wher it is . and no adjust ment markings .then the thermo will have to be replaced. very costley .. part # 73001316 @ 363.81 .. so look very good at the knob for the adjustment . other thing you could do is adjust ty setting the tempt higher like when you want 350 deg set it for 400 .. and so on ... hope this hepled mm feed back pls .. and thanks for ysing fix ya ..

This could be a couple of different problems. I would start by checking the continuity on the heating elements. I would bet that your heating element is bad. You should have continuity on the heating elements. If they are open then they are bad. More than likely it is the heating element. If the heating elements have continuity, then either the thermostat probe is bad sending false readings to the control board. Or the control board is bad.

Bottom oven isn't heating to desired temp. Considering swapping the heating elements to see if one is faulty - thoughts?

try thermostat first. verify heating elements operational, if so check if tstats are same. swap if so, If not jump out tstat and see if higher temp achieved.

My oven won't reach the appropriate temperature

It is a problem with neither of the two it is the sensor reads the oven temp and shuts off the heating element when it is reached, it is called the thermal probe or thermostat.

Hit "bake" or "broil" button and temp setpoint

Hi

This Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

It takes 28 minutes for the oven to reach temperature of 375 degrees. The ready buzzer goes off in about 15 minutes. The temperature is 300 degrees. Is there any adjustments to be made.

what is your oven if is gas or electric, if is gas easy to preheat by using lower heating element, if electric? that your unit have convection? or not? coz some probelm of the oven is, 1 if the oven is no convection or your oven is single heating in upper element,if your oven have a timer and cut off in 15minute? dont use timer, use a manual timer by it your self,if you want to reach the degrees that you want check your oven if der a lower and upper heating element with convection function, that the one is the most easy way to reach the degree that you want to reach.

GE free-standing electric range Pre-heat oven temp is about 50 degrees less than what is set (i.e. set digital display to 400 and over only reaches about 350). Is there an adjustment that can be made to...

We have a new GE Range and the signal beeps at about 100 degrees below the temp which we have set . The dealer replaced the sensor and the control circuit, but there was no change.
A service tech from GE came to our house and explained that the new ovens have a bottom heating element which is covered and therefore heats the lower part of the oven more slowly; but the exposed upper element heats more rapidly and the sensor is located near the upper element. We were advised to wait for about 15-20 minutes after the beep before placing the food in the oven. Judging from the number of comments found online, this seems to be a feature of newer ranges.

Oven won't reach proper temperature and hold

If the element glows its ok , if you have replaced the sensor with a new one it can only be the control board. in some cases you can adjust the temp. through the control , it should list directions to do so in the manual. Good luck

If this is an older oven, check to see if it has a control knob or switch labeled "manual and "hold". Make sure it's set for manual. The hold setting maintains temp at about 140 degrees.
If not the case, is this gas or electric?
