Have you ever backed up your iPhone before? If yes, just restore your iPhone from iTunes backup or iCloud backup. Apple does list detailed steps on http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766

If not, turn to third-party recovery software for help. Professional iPhone recovery software always can recover most of your iPhone data.

Plug your iphone into your computer via usb. open itunes and it should prompt you to do a restore. once restored you can select the most recent backup of your iphone. (the last time you plugged your iphone into your computer it backed up your info) Once selected you itunes will load all of your saved data back onto your iphone.

How to format IPHONE3G.

Formatting an iPhone 3G will erase all the data on your phone, delete all your apps and reset your phone to factory settings. Formatting your phone is a good last resort if you're having software issues with your phone. Keep in mind that the format is permanent and any data irrecoverable.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.Click the "Settings" icon.

2.Select "General."

3.Scroll to the bottom and select "Reset."

4.Select "Erase All Content and Settings." A warning message will display. Confirm your selection. The iPhone screen will turn off then show a "waiting" sign. After formatting is complete, the Apple logo will display and finally your formatted iPhone will reboot.

The itunes logo is stuck on the display of my iphone. Have switched it off and on several times. Have even taken the sim out and put it back. Nothing seems to help. Cna you fix it for me?

What did you do before this happened?
A lot of factors can be considered why this happens:
1. You deleted all content and files
2. You used a tethered jailbreak
3. You installed an app not compatible with the phone

Let me know what you did so I can properly guide you on how to fix it.

Iphone 3G Erase All content and settings problem

DFU means Device Firmware Update. If a restore using Recovery Mode doesn't work you will want to use DFU Mode as a last resort. When placing your iPhone into DFU Mode it does not load the OS before attempting the restore

For your convenience this tutorial is available in video format also. Click the Watch It button to view the tutorial!

To put the iPhone into DFU mode so you can do an iTunes firmware restore follow these steps:

Step One
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac.

Step Two
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.

Step Three
After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.

The iPhone screen will remain black like this:

NOTE***: It may take a few attempts to get your iPhone into DFU mode. Generally, I hold down both buttons then release the Home button just before I think the Apple logo would appear. If you are still holding both buttons down and you see the Apple logo you are holding them down for too long!
