Any distance claims made by the manufacturer are pure fantasy. These are low-power UHF line-of-sight radios -- don't expect more than 1/4 mile effective range from them under most conditions.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

What size trailer tires does a 1988 Holiday Rambler have on it?

Your Holiday Rambler most likely has an LT35/85-16, which is the most common for campers, 5th wheels and toy haulers. However, what you need to look for is the info plate on the unit, showing the VIN, tire size and pressure for each tire and the GVRW for your unit. Look for the Load Range. Depending on the axles and weight, you most likely have Load Range E. If you are looking for replacement tires, you may want to consider an ST235/85-16E. The ST has a hard composition rubber so the life and mileage is much longer, besides usually being less expensive.

Just to give you an example from my personal trailer, the Goodyear LT235/85-16 Load Range G average cost is @ $340.00/ tire but the replacement ST235/85-16 Load Range G cost$185.00 each. Great warranty, longer life and much cheaper. I am a Full Time RV'er traveling all over the country so mind gets a lot of mileage. It's worth the switch.

What is the range of my new cobra

line of sight. Nothing more, except it may go through a wall or two. Imagine a flashlight aimed at you, if you can see it, the radio will "talk". No radio talks the 35 mile claimed range in Uhf without a repeater unless you are straight up in the aar, as in a balloon or on top of a mountain.

Finals for a Cobra 85 Home Base CB and hom many?

Not familiar with the 35......If it is a ssb radio it will have a pre driver and a pair of finals. they are located on the right side towards the back or along the rear of the chassis to the right. You may have the type of circuit that has a protector diode piggy backed ..they could cause that tyoe of failure also, but in the years I have serviced radios they do not fail too often. I WOULD SUSPECT THE FINALS.

Long range mode

Hi,

For the Cobra PR4700WX:
The user's manual is available here
To turn on/off the long range mode - (If you are referring to low & high power); Press and hold the Hi•Low/Enter button for two seconds.
Alternately, if you are referring to the Light/Max Range (receive sensitivity), 3 options:
1. To briefly turn off auto squelch - Press the Light/Max Range button for less than five seconds. If you hear two beeps, you have turned the maximum range extender on.
2. To turn maximum range extender on - Press and hold the Light/Max Range button for at least five seconds until you hear
two beeps which indicates the maximum range extender is on.
3. To turn maximum range extender off - Press and release the Light/Max Range button or change channels.
Probable reason that "fishing was all right but for hunting there is to much static" is becasue these radios operate on line of sight principle. Anything that obstructs the linear view would reduce signal strength/range. There is not that much obstruction when fishing compared to that when hunting in the woods or rough uneven terrain.
Please note that when using Channels 1 through 7 and 15 through 22 on high power, the Hi icon will be visible on the display. When using those channels on low power and on Channels 8 through 14, the Low icon will be visible on the display.

For the Cobra PR3500DX:
The user's manual is available here.
The transmission message icon off when not in use - this icon will only display if the radio is receiving something or if your are pressing the PTT button.
The other three the transmission signal is on at all times - indicates that either you are transmitting (unlikely) or the radio is in constant receive mode (most likely). I would venture a guess that the Auto Squelch is switched "OFF" or Maximum Range is switched "ON"

Both the 4700 & 3500 has Power Saver and it is a built-in feature. Your radios have this unique circuit designed that extend battery life. If there are no transmissions for 10 seconds, the radio will automatically switch to Battery Save mode and the Power Saver icon will flash in the display. This will not affect the radio’s ability to receive incoming transmissions.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
