Hi,

Set your resolution from "Display" which you can find in control panel. And fix the resolution at 1280 by 768.

How to connect Laptop to an External Monitor?

Most of the notebooks that were manufactured in the past two-three years come with a HDMI port along with the old VGA port to connect your computer to an external display. Connecting and activating an external display on a Windows 7 machine is pretty simple.
connemp1.jpg
Here is how to connect your Windows 7 installed notebook to an external display:
1. Connect your Windows 7 laptop to the external display using VGA or HDMI cable.
2. Then, switch on your Windows 7 laptop and also the external display.
3. Once Windows 7 is up and running, type Mobility Center in Start menu search area and hit enter to open the same.

4. If you have connected your Windows 7 machine to the external display properly, you should now see Display connected text under External display section of Windows Mobility Center. To use the connected external display, click Connect Display button. You should now see your Windows 7 desktop in the external display as well.

5. Use disconnect button in the Windows Mobility Center to disconnect the external display. When the display is connected and active, use Windows + P keys to quickly switch between these displays.

My monitor has some problem with windows 7 ultimate. it is showing "out of range" why is this?

Hello you can try to seach for the driver here:

http://www.hclsupportservice.in/drvr-dwnld.jsp?pF=RGVza3RvcA==&pC=RXplZWJlZQ==

By entering the pc`s model number.

If the driver is not listed you windows is not supported.

Try to run windows update it sometimes find the driver for you.

Look in the device manager for driver fault.

You can also try to lower the screen resolution in screen settings or install a graphic card on the mainboard.

Just make sure your windows system is supported.

Good luck

I have a HP 1940 19" LCD monitor, which is not being detected by windows 7. monitor works just fine, but not showing any identifications in device manager.

It is not detected because the driver for that monitor is not installed for windows 7. Go to HP web site and get the driver for your monitor. Your graphic card will dictate the resolution for the monitor. The monitor will only tried to project the image within its capability.

My PC laptop monitor show yellow lines all over the monitor dnt know whats the real problem. I connect external camera its not working. It show troubleshooting and it says a mass storage controller is not...

Is your laptop booting on switching it on, ie, it is showing hard disk activity and shows initial boot screen. If yes, while switching on press F8 button very frequently. You will get a screen showing the options for booting. Choose a safe mode option and restore your computer to an earlier date. This may solve your problem. On the other hand just switching on the computer shows monitor with yellow and black stripes, you may have to take it to a service center.

I'm trying to connect my laptop to my tv using an hdmi cable and it is showing invalid format. not sure what i need to change to fix

If you have windows 7 press the windows and P button and it will bring up projector settings. Select an option that uses the projector and make sure the resolution is in range of the tv. If you don't have windows 7 go into the display settings and make sure that monitor 2 is enabled as your tv.

I need drivers for my Soyo MONITOR, DYLM017B Model:VT17n71.. Windows 7 is tellin me its out of range

Hi there,

I've spent a bit of time researching this problem for you and have come up with the following, hope it helps.

SOYO has quoted "All SOYO monitors are Plug and Play monitors. They do not require drivers to work". Recently SOYO went bankrupt so their website is now unavailable for any form of support.

What i would recommend to you would be to temporarily connect a CRT monitor (one of those big bulky monitors) to your computer, as these have a larger resolution and refresh rate capability.
Once you can see Windows 7, change the display settings to the minimum settings for your monitor (as a safe bet i'd set them to 800x600, 60Hz until you connect the LCD). Then connect your flat panel monitor again and set the display settings to an optimal level for you.

Again, i very much doubt that you will need a driver for this brand of monitor, and will be hard pressed to find one.

All the best, and i wish you luck :)

After I installed Windows 7 I get ''out of range'' message on the monitor. Soyo 17'' LCD

It is because the PC video output resolution is too high for the monitor to handle, you need to set the PC video resolution to the native resolution of the monitor.
