Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

My computer keeps shutting down

I just got my hp pavilion dv6000. Yet every once and awhile it just shuts off. I was going to take it to an expert but it would have cost way to much. recently i installed a game to my computer that was a little to much for my computer to handle and i thought maybe that was the problem. Yet when i deleted it the problem persisted. Can you help me, if possible with a solution that doesnt involve paying a hefty fee.

Link to HP information and extended waranty
HP/Compaq have identified several laptops with inherent problems.
See if your laptop is listed on the linked page. Contact HP for Repair. They will send you a mailer and give you an RMA #
(Return Merchandise Authorization) They say the turn-around time is 10-14 days (a friend borrowed a laptop from me and it has been over a month). But in any case it is a free repair, and free shipping they pay for everything.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 computer-I am having a problem with my cursor disappearing-It does it at least once or twice a day and will come back if I shut down the unit and turn it right back on-

It could be happening due to a number of reasons, probably a program you recently installed.
The solution here would be to uninstall that program and then reinstall it.
If that is not the case, try performing a system repair using your Operating System (OS) installation CD.

turn on machine and hit F8 to into safe mode. If cannot load to safe mode i suspected your Operating system is corrupted. You might need to reformat your machine. Back up your files first before doing so because everything will be wiped out.

Not sure if this is whats up with your laptop but there is a recall on the dv6000. The following link has more details on whether your laptop is one of those affected.

My computer keeps shutting down.

Yes.... that is exactly what is hapening...
Try Cleaning out the laptop for starters...
(i recommend getting someone who is experienced)
The Fans Need to be cleaned.. the Heat Sink(s) need to have their Fins cleaned out... and I would Replace the Thermal Paste on your Processor Chip with High Temp Silver Thermal Paste instead of the typical **** they throw on it..

then another good idea is to look for a 3rd party Fan Controller for your laptop if you are a gamer, it allows you to run your fans when you choose and keep them on if you choose, which would help with cooling your laptop while gaming...
