Keyboard Backlight The blue backlight glow on my keyboard no longer lights up when I press any button. I've tried finding a way to "turn it back on." I'm not sure if I need to go to my service provider for troubleshooting. Oh, and I did not drop the phone/Thanks

How can I get my keyboard light to come on?

The key just to the right of the space bar is the backlight key. Pressing the backlight key scrolls through the backlight levels of OFF - LOW - MEDIUM - HIGH.

Hold down the backlight key and press the right or left arrow keys to scroll through the colors.(WHITE, RED, AMBER, GREEN, AQUA, BLUE, VIOLET).

However, when the battery is at 20% or less the backlight feature is disabled to conserve the remaining battery charge.

I want to turn on my backlight keys but how

On some Toshiba systems, the combination to toggle the keyboard backlight on and off is Fn + z. (Press and hold Fn and then press z. Release both keys.) On others, it is Fn + y. The correct key should have a small gray keyboard icon on it.

You can change the keyboard illumination settings with the Toshiba Hardware Setup tool (HWSetup). Use the Illumination tab in this software. You can find the tool from Start Menu. Click All Programs then the Toshiba folder. Select the Utilities folder and choose HWSetup .

I hope this helps.

cielimar61,

To turn on the backlight on the keyboard follow the steps below. The keyboard backlight LED can be accessed through either the Quickset Utility or Windows Mobility Center depending on the installed application.Once this is open click on the Keyboard Backlighting section. Make sure the keyboard light is turned on.

try this, on the laptop keyboard on the bottom left cornet, there should be a button that says 'Fn' written in 'blue'

also on the keyboard, there are secondary buttons, if you look on some off the buttons on the keyboard, there are some pics, numbers letter etc written in blue on the buttons, look for one that has a arrow up and beside that on the same button a picture of a sun, when found do this:

Hold Fn and click on that key with the arrow pointing up with picture of sun and tap that button repeatedly to increase back light while holding the Fn button down firmly

My cf30 rubberized keyboard functions but will not backlight. Is it malfunctioning or is there an option somewhere to activate it/turn it on?

There is a function key combination that turns on the back light, I believe it is Fn+F12. Hod down the FN key and press F12. The first press turns the backlight on full brightness and succesive presses dim it until it is turned off.

I'm sorry but I don't have my CF-30 in fromt of me at this time, it could be Fn+F10. There is a blue symbol on the correct key and I believe it looks like a light bulb.

If this doesn't work, you may need to have a hotkey driver installed.

If your keyboard glows in the dark,it never lit up.there are two types of keyboards one glows and one actually lights up with a blue back light as an option on the ix250(the bios has the option built in,if it has the keyboard that lights up or not).

boot_c_03.08.00r_mpap Paul Sager from FixYa has posted a solution for this problem previousley (as below). I have tried the Motorola and Verizon sites (tried the store as well) and the software is not available to flash the phone. Do you know of a site that would still have it available? Or can this question be sent to Paul to further comment on it? All I want to do is recover the phone numbers, notes and calandar from the phone via Activesync or Windows. Paul Sager 2335 Solutions July 14, 2010 I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q. What has happened is that the firmware of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence. This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware. The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash it for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.) If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times. My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone. I hope that helps.
