Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Evidentally it had stopped during cycle as water standing. Didn't notice and tried to do next load and it does not start. Checked circut breaker and was on. Cleaned washer with the recommended cleaner last month. Has always worked well till now. Did replace upper arm last year. Child lock not on. ????? Nancy

It will be helpful to know the make and model number of the dishwasher.

Please confirm which wash program you were running.
Do you get any lights flashing on the panel? Is your dishwasher connected directly to the cold water inlet or the hot water?

Make sure the drain on the kitchen sink side is clear. for example, inskerator is clear if you have one.

Hi,
The buzzing sound would be the motor trying to start and it not being able to turn...
either something is stuck in the pump and holding it from not starting or the motor its self has gone bad and will not start.

will these units (silo and jtrip) start back on their own? if so, it is likely they are heating the water.
otherwise it sounds like a logic board, unless there is a defective door switch or sensor issue.
electronics seem to be a recurring problem with whirlpool.
i would ask whirlpool (electorlux) to either buy it back or fix it.
good luck
