Question about Ovens

Open Question

Just bought a Bush electric fan oven AE6BFS. The glass door gets extremely, dangerously, hot. I wired the unit into my electric hob just like the previous oven.

SOURCE: Hob on my hotpoint oven trips my RCD

It is either a faulty ring, or the regulator that controls it is faulty.
You really need a meter to test the ring with to be certain which part is faulty.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: built in oven front panel gets too hot

No. There should be a fan that runs and blows cool air from a gap at the top of the door and over the controls.

What is the worst that could happen if an electric double oven ceramic hob had the neutral and earth mains power wired the wrong way round ?

Electronic controller would most likely be damaged and need to be replaced. These things usually cost between $350-$400

Bush ae56tcs the oven has suddenly stopped working. The light and fan isnt going on either. Everything else on the cooker is working (ie the grill and hobs)

-Check the breaker on the electric panel. Possibly two legs breaker, one pop out but still one on. you still have power but can't cook.

Good luck

Has anyone had a problem with the inner glass on the Lamona oven door exploding. Mine just has! It's only 18 months old and hardly used. I wonder if it's the difference in temperature betweeen the hot oven...

We bought our kitchen from Howden's as well about 15 months ago. They installed a Lamona double oven and hob. Last night when opening the door to the bottom oven our glass on the inner door exploded as well. Maybe there was a batch of defective ovens as ours sounds as though they mat have been bought/manufactured at the same time.

Does the bush AE6BFS single fan oven require hardwiring or can it plug into normal socket

Generally speaking, a single oven can be used from a normal 13 amp socket.
If you are not sure, check the power used by the oven on the rating plate, as long as it does not exceed 3kw, then itt is o/k to use from socket.
If more than 3kw, then it will need to be hard wired.

I have dropped a cup onto my ceramic Zanussi hob, is the slither of glass that came off able to be repaired ??

Hello,
Just to clarify something, is your hob above a double oven D2100-4 because that is only telling me about your oven the hob will have its own Mod. no. But any crack to the glass on any Hob can weaken the glass and really should not be used due to the weight of Pots on glass if the glass did break it could be quite dangerous with all the electrics below.
Hope this gives you some help in the matter.

Good Luck.

Broken glass AEG hob

Hello,
If it is just the edge of the corner glass not a lot you can do if it is broken nearer the inside be very careful as the weight of pans can cause the break to spread.Check serial no. on base of hob body the first 2 digits are the year and 3rd digit is weeks in year. For example 92800055 that would be 2009 and 28th week equals july 2009.Any AEG unit has 2years full warranty.Check and you might be able to claim new glass.Hope this helped.

Know display anel getting EXTREMELY hot

Laura_kucari

I think you are feeling the heat coming from the oven vent. The fan still runs as it tries to cool down the temp in the compartment housing the electronics.
