Question about Amana PTC153B50AM Split System Air Conditioner
You'll have to get someone to measure the voltage in, and find out where it's being lost. You could have a bad reset switch on the plug side, and the next step is to make sure voltage is getting to the unit. There's usually a transformer that knocks the voltage down, and a power circuit that rectifies it to dc, so it will take a bit of troubleshooting to figure it out.
Get someone who knows how to use a vom to help you figure this out. It could even be a fuse.
Good luck, and be careful when measuring voltages.

Hello tkulsicki. Begin by checking to be sure that their is power at the outlet where you are plugging in the appliance. If you do not have a tester, the least expensive way is to go to the hardware store and buy a light bulb socket with pigtail and a 15 watt bulb. Use this to see if the outlet works. That is the first step. After that, assumming that the outlet is live, your circuit board is the next suspect item.
If there is no power at the outlet but the circuit breaker appears to be on, then most likely the circuit breaker itself is bad and needs to be replaced. Joe
