Question about E-Flite Blade mCX RTF EFLH2200

Open Question

My E-Flite Blade MCX passed all of the pre-flight checks with flying colors. When I increase the throttle prepatory to first flight ; right at the point of lift-off the model noses over to the right and crashes. I have checked for extreme trim adjustment on all three axis of control. If I hold the airilon control to the left the model seems to be more stable at the lift off point but it cannot be flown at that extreme. Adjusting the trim to compensate does not seem to help. Also, when I look at the model from behind the cirduit board and rotor tower appear to lean to the right. The rotor tower also wobbles at low rpm but steadies-up as it approaches take-off rpm. How do I get the model to fly?

SOURCE: linear servo retainer replacement for e-flite mcx

It isn't a great solution, but i was able to get one of these retainers back on. Using only the screwdriver in the kit, and my thumbnail. Try to work in a well-lit, clean area, so if the retainer gets loose, you can find it. Should be obvious, but Make sure the power is disconnected to the heli

--Heli Dis-assembly--
First, disconnect the two servo pushrods from the swashplate. Unless you want to replace the swashplate, be careful not to break the connecting ball off.

Second, disconnect the two motors from the control unit. Be mindful of the direction they need to be reconnected (white/black on outside, blue/orange on inside--in that order)

Third, using the provided screwdriver, remove the two screws holding the control unit on the heli. pull it off the chassis, but be mindful of the Antenna wire. I would try not to bend this more than you have to.

-Retainer installation-
Fourth, lay the control unit on the clean flat surface, pull the servo gear shaft slightly out of the unit until it is flush with the plastic.

Fifth, Carefully drop the retainer next to the servo. Using the tip of the screwdriver, apply enough pressure to the retainer to guide it up the plastic to match the hole with the shaft.

Sixth, Apply gentle but firm pressure upwards on the gear shaft. this should push the retainer onto the shaft just enough for it to hold on.

Seventh, using your thumbnail on one hand, and the tip of the screwdriver with the other, apply pressure to both sides of the retainer to slide it down the shaft. *NOTE* This is where i had the retainer flip off the gear shaft multiple times, only to have to repeat steps 4-7.

Eighth, Begin re-assembly in reverse order from steps 1-5. Reattach the canopy, and power, and attempt flight. If it spins uncontrollably, make sure that you have the motors hooked back up in the correct polarity (otherwise it spins in the opposite direction)

-Tiny tweezers don't seem to allow for enough force to push the retainer onto the shaft
-A standard screwdriver of comparable size to the provided phillips head screwdriver may allow for more pressure to be applied
-The retainers like to spring off of the shaft when pressure is applied in the wrong place-- hence the clean surface to find them when they do.
-I can't seem to find anywhere that sells only the servo retainers, so if you lose them, you may need to purchase the entire servo assembly. :(
-I know check these retainers as both pre and post flight checks to ensure that they are securely into place. They seem to like to pop off during very hard collisions (which is how mine came off)

SOURCE: motor not speeding up

It sounds like your centrifical clutch is worn in your chopper. Order the new clutch and install and I think you should be ok. The clutch seems to maybe get warmer and sticks and then locks into place. If that doesn't help, check the pitch of your blades.

SOURCE: crashed blade 400 repaired it unsure of servo settings helicopter tilts forward and tends to spin around

dude is your swash plate levle if it is not it will cause your heli to drift
or if not go on youtube and reset your dx6i settings

With that setup you can get about 75 yard swithout any interference problems. Collective pitch is the angle of attack of the rotor blades (how much bite they take out of the air) your bird has fixed pitch blades so you have nothing to adjust or worry about. Pre-flight is a good idea and it consists of looking for loose missing or damaged parts. Do not fly with damaged rotor blades. Have fun.

I have a Syma s032 that had its motors brushes distroyed in few flights. How to avoid premature wear? Is there another kind of motor that can be used on it? Thanks

You need to quickly throttle (left joystick) all the way down whenever you're about to crash or blade strike. Both motors have clutch to spin freely when in neutral. They will bounce off of anything if they can, i.e. if your hand isn't still pegging the throttle. But, if the blade (or blades) hit something that stops them while throttle is still being applied, one of three things will happen.
1) Blade will stop abruptly, putting grossly abnormal strain on the motor and those tiny little brushes inside. Motor may burn out. Every fraction of a second that throttle is being applied while blades cannot move, irreparable damage is almost certainly being done to the motor(s).
2) Blade(s) will break, maybe taking gears or shaft along for the ride.
3) or sometimes nothing seems to have happened, bird clunks to ground, you right it and continue flying.

however, if you throttle fully down, the motors engage clutches automatically and are effectively in neutral, spinning freely allowing the blades to bounce harmlessly off of whatever.

Throttle down when accident nears, and your motors will last for ages.

Throttle Problem

Your ESC is sensing an error. The error is either blade speed or a peripheral device - possibly servo or gyro. Sub the servos one by one. Check the blade tracking. Have you had any crashes lately? You should double check all the head assembly components.

no the buttons does not have anything to do with this, first you need to recailibrate the flight yoke. then go back into flight simulator and check the senitivity levels move them all the way to the right the null needs to be to the left let me know if this takes care the problem if not we can do some more testing.

Speed doesn't work

The markings on the TQ are not to be used literally. I suggest you use it to get the speed you want on your gauge and ignore markings on the TQ iteslf. Try re-calibrating in your sim program so it knows what the full range of the throttle is.
