Question about AudioBahn A2300HCT Car Audio Amplifier

2300HCT Audiobahn Amp

Hi i was just using the amp like it should be used powering two 10" solobaric's and it just stopped powering the subs and my volt gauge in my car just dropped everytime the amp was on. Like the amp was using a load more then it should. So i benched tested the amp and it can be on and not drain the power drastically and right when i plug the rca's in and then the subs require the amp to push them then it uses a lot of power. I don't know what it is. So can someone please direct me in the right direction to a place where i can get it fixed, the electronic places around where i live only deal with kicker and rockford fosgate. Please email me at hansonz1@hotmail.com with some information, Thanks.

It's probably a short someplace on the Main Board. I would suggest calling Audiobahn for a certified repair specialist around you.

it maybe fixable. the problem is that when you find what is burnt or messed up, you replace it. after that you need to find out why it burnt or messed up. i wouldnt recomend trying to fix it your self unless you wanna chance it. but if you take it to a technician that can fix it the will be able to tell you if it can be repaired. also check your power and ground wires. make sure youre getting 12 volts to the amp. check your subs and make sure they are good. a bad sub will put a amp into protect. good luck.

No sound protection light on.

Either blown subs, or bad amp.. Disconnect the subs, and try turning the amp on, if the amp is still in protect then your amp is bad, if the protect light goes off, then your subs are bad, or possibly wired at to low of an impedance, but I don't think that will trigger the protect on an Audiobahn amp.

Disconnect all speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp and disconnect signal cables from the amp. If it powers up normally, the wiring and speakers need to be checked. If it still shuts down, the amp likely has blown output transistors.

Amp. Audiobahn a2300hcx

If the subs are dual 4 ohm voice coils and if your amp is good down to 1 ohm, your best bet is:
  1. Connect the voice coils in parallel ("+"s together, "-"s together). This will make the impedance of each sub 2 ohms.
  2. Connect the subs in parallel.
  3. Bridge the amp to one channel.
This should max the amp out at 2400W, which means about 1200W per sub.

If your subs are single 4 ohm voice coils, do the same steps, but you'll only be able to load the amp to 2 ohms, which means about 600W per sub.

Also keep in mind that box size, type, and quality make a big difference in how subs sound.

Audiobahn 12' subs and audiobahn amp

First thing is first. What subs do you have? Audiobahn makes several kinds of 12" subs. What model sub do you have?
Without knowing this, it would be hard to recomend an amp without knowing how much power your sub can handle. Audiobahn makes from very power amps that can put out up to 5000W RMS, but if your sub can not handle that power, then you will blow your sub.
