SOURCE: ice build up

Check that the door is closing properly otherwise the freezer will be working overtime to cool and ice will form. If the door seal is good, it is possible that the thermostat needs to be checked.

SOURCE: Water forming in fridge part of fridge/freezer

check your gasket on the refrigeratordoor with a dollar bill. it should have resistance when pulled out from between the gasket and door. if not then replace the gasket. or the drain tube in the freezer compoartment is clogged up and not draining properly. good luck and contqact me if theres more to the problem ok.

SOURCE: AEG Santo fridge not cooling but freezer is working.

The compressor is obviously still good or the freezer wouldn't work.I'm sure you checked the settings, but turn the freezer all the way up (hot)after it is cool so the unit doesn't come on for the freezer, then turn the refrigerator controls all the way down to the coolest setting.listen for the compressor to start,and/or the fans to run.If the compressor starts, and no fan there may be a problem with the fan.(this is a general test I'm not familiar with your specific unit which may not have a fan,but most newer units do).If the compressor doesn't start after a short time the thermostat/control for the refrigerator section is broken, and needs replaced.

SOURCE: every thing in our freezer is melting and the fridge is barely

take the back cover off and then clean the condenser coil on the unit. that will lower the head pressure whiuch in turn will lower the suction temperature.

Hi- I have a Kenmore Elite 79571053 fridge/freezer. A while back I noticed water pooling under the front right side, just underneath the freezer.

Your drainpipe might be blocked, you will need to check the reservoir at the bottom back of the fridge. It's a bit technical. I would recommend getting some help.

Why is ice forming in freezer

Ice layer inside freezer box floor - Defrost drain line clogged.

Frost or ice on freezer box top - Room air leaking into the fridge from door seals.

Frost on the Freezer box back wall means unit is not defrosting properly.

How can i stop my larder fridge from producing lots of ice?

If your fridge is built into the furniture, pull it out by releasing all the retaining screw, clean the condenser and the areas behind your fridge. Dust and fluffs reduce the efficiency of the fridge. Also turn the dial to three, if it is higher, older fridge do not need to be cranked to higher numbers. If no joy call an engineer, the level of refrigerant in your system may need topping up. Will cost you anything from sixty pounds for a qualified engineer to do this.

My AEG Santo freezer is leakin water on the floor every few days. There is also a build up of ice inside the bottom of the freezer, even though we very recently defrosted the freezer. This fridge/freezer...

try pulling out the fridge very slowly, any signs of hard resistance than stop. there should be a main water shut off back there. if still uncomfortable with this you can always shut the main water off to the house before trying. hope this helps.

What is the ideal temp setting in GE side by side refrigirator. I have Freezer (0-9) Refrigirator (0-9) There was ice on the Freezer wall and the service guy replaced the defrost thermostat recently

If replacing the defrost thermostat fixed the icing problem that doesn't indicate your settings are wrong. But the desired temp in the freezer is from 0 to 10 degrees and in the fridge around 35 degrees. The actual number on your dial depends on the personal use. Use a thermometer to check it and allow 24 hours after changing it to check it.

Refrigirator side not cooling but freezer side is working, fan is working

if you open the freezer back wall you see that there is ice all over that prevent colld air go to the fridg.
use hair dryer to melt all the ice (turn unit off)
then you might need to replace the heat unit or the thermostat in the freezer to prevent it to build ice again.

Freezer compartment not cooling

Di a total defrost and remove the back wall cover from the freezer. Look for ice buildup in the cooling fins. If the air channel is blocked, you won't get proper freezing.

Whirlpool refrigirator with top freezer

run your hand around bottom door seal see if you can feel a warm spot, if you do check that area for contamanation ie;particals of food etc if not pull the seal in that area back slightly see if seal is split.if all seems ok look at the drain hole at the back of your fridge inside it often clogs up with small particals of food if this is the problem use a pipe cleaner to clean it.if its cloged water will be seen lying at the bottom of your fridge ;if any of the above do not cure your problem turn down your fridge a little this will not affect your freezer.hope this helps you.adrian
