What goes to the two connectors on the sound card ?

You will only use the pink and the green one. The pink is for the microphone if you have a webcam and the green is for the overall audio of your computer. Plug your speaker to the green jack.

What about if the headphone doesnt have a usb...instead it has 2 cables, a pink one and a green one?

Those are separate connectors for the earphone (green) and microphone (pink). Plug them in to the appropriate connectors on your computer. On desktops you will find them on the rear panel (maybe also on the front on some systems), and they will probably be color coded the same way. On a laptop, the connectors are usually on the front edge or on one of the sides.

How do i hook up the speakers?

Hi,

If your sound card has only pink, green and blue colors connectors in this case you will connect your speaker’s green cable into the green connector of the sound card. (Orange and black connectors will not be connected)
You will connect your microphone (if you have) to the pink connector of your sound card.
Please find the pictures which explain the color codes below:

Need to locate door ajar curcuit on 2002 F150 Super Crew

The door ajar wire is the Black w/ Pinks tripe wire, on the SuperCrew the driver's door is solo, and the other 3 are are in the same input to the GEM.

The passenger's side kick panel ( the plastic that covers the Fuel inertia switch ) is a connector C206, right above C203. There is another smaller looking connector above C206, and some small 2 pin ones shown back there, along with 2 ground lugs in the side of the cab sheet metal.

C206 is a square 16 pin connector, 4 pins by 4 rows.
C203 is also a square 16 pin connector, 4 pins by 4 rows.

The higher of the 2 connectors is the one you want, the Black w/ Pink stripe wire is in the outside column, 2nd to the last from the side farthest from the tab.
Looking at the connector with the tab on the top, the outside column should be ( from tab end ) :
pin #1 : Dark Green w/ Orange Stripe
pin #5 : White w/ Light Green stripe
pin #9 : Black w/ Pink Stripe <- This is the one for all 3 doors
pin #13 : ( bottom ) White w/ Light Blue stripe wire

The connector is numbered on the top row, under the tab ( that is why the pin #s are spaced out reading down the column ).

The wire in the door is in a loom, it is coming from the door latch ( that is where the switch is at ), so it might not be obvious.
It should not be in the connector for the door lock switch ( that is Pink w/ Black stripe wire, not the same ).

If you want to used mic please insert it to color pink or red then if you want to hear sometimes using your headphone plug it the connector for audio in green. Usually if your head phone has mic then the connector has two different plug for mic and audio out.

How do you hook up altec lansing speakers to the computer

You have to set your speakers first.
Connect the cables between them, connect the subwoofer( if any)
Connect the speakers to the power.
Then conect the cable with the end green (pin male connector) to green hole in the back of your computer.
(ther are three holes in straight line, one is mic (pink) other is green (speaker) and the last one is blue (line in)

That't it.

This will fix your problem.

Headset setup

Hello,
Generally your headset will have a green plug and a pinkish plug at the end of the cord. The green cord is for headphones/sound output and the pink cord is for the microphone/sound input.
Look in the back of your computer case, not the screen. The case is the box the screen/keyboard/mouse is connected to. behind the case you should see the pink/green/purple round outlets in a row. Green plug goes into the green outlet and same with the pink. Please rate me well if this helped.

Trying to reconnect a set of Harman Kardon candlestick computer speakers to a Dell Dimension E520 computer. I got three plugs and dell has 6 holes...what the heck goes where? Nothing I seem to try works...

Hi rjlevesque

For the speakers, you need only connect to the GREEN jack at the back of your computer. It's OK to leave the others blank.

Your two HK speakers will, with one wire, connect to each other and, w/ another wire (usually having a GREEN connector on the end), connect to the computer.

I'm not sure what the 3rd wire is unless it's (1) the power connector or (2) for connecting to a sub-woofer.

Does the speaker set include a sub-woofer? Or does it include a "surround sound" or 3rd speaker?

You can find pics & symbols (the symbols are helpful if your sound card jacks are not color-coded) for (3) of the most common audio connections HERE.

Usually the color of the connector on the wire is matched to the sound card jack w/ the same color. (green to green; pink to pink; blue to blue).

green = speakers
pink = mic
blue = line in

Make sure you are connecting to the active sound connectors - the ones you used b4 the HK speakers.

If you have "integrated audio" (audio that is built into the motherboard) and you have an audio expansion card installed on the computer as well, one may be disabled or not selected in your computer's audio configuration.

If that's the case (that you have two sets of audio jacks to choose from), try connecting the speaker wire from the HK speakers 1st to the green jack (or the jack marked w/ the symbol of a speaker) at the bottom of your computer. (There'll only audio jacks here if there is an audio expansion card installed on your computer.)

If that is the case, there'll be other (usually) colored jacks running horizontally next to the speakers jack.

If you still have no sound, connect the speaker wire to the GREEN jack that is (usually on Dells) up by your PS2 (round - one purple and one green) keyboard and mouse connectors (also at the back of your computer). The other jacks in that set (of audio jacks) will be situated vertical to one another and on the left-most side at the back of your computer.

Please, let us know if this response was helpful for you or, of course, if you have any further questions.

Thank you
BJ
