This could be one of two things causing this problem. It could either be the fan motor itself or the keypad. You can check voltage at the fan to see if you are getting power to the fan. If you are getting power to the fan and it is not working, then the fan motor itself is bad. If it is not getting power then the keypad is not working to send power to the fan.

Are the top and bottom heating elements both supposed to heat? Only the bottom one is heating except when specifically set on "broil".

Most ovens with top and bottom elements have a multifunction control switch which enables the user to select a certain setting to suit their cooking. The control switch would normally have small pictures of the elements, fan forced function etc, to show what each setting does. Sometimes you may only require the bottom element working and other times you may want/need both.

Oven was heating and we got HEAVY smoke....

Nothing in the elements, thermostat thermocouples are gas filled, sensors have wiring inside, nothing in the liner or insulation. You said this was a stove, and some stoves have a vent that goes up through one of the burners on the top. If you had oil splatter or drip into this it can get into your oven. We do know that some blower fans on convection ovens have a sealed oil bearing, but there would be very little oil coming out of this (drops) and you will notice your fan getting noisier or running slower in the near future. My bottom oven isn't working at all but top oven/grill and hob is working fine

If nothing is working in the bottom oven (no fan, no light, no heat) then it is most likely the oven selector switch is faulty.

If you have a light and or fan and they are working, it is a failed oven element.

I have a new World twin line gas oven. Model 136/7 or CGK-21515. The programmer has stopped working. No lights, nothing! I have tested the mains supply to the plug and its fuse which are both fine. I have...

Guess you've either solved this, managed without the programmer or bought a new oven. Which ever way it is I still can't give you an answer even now - just sympathy since my identical oven has exactly the same fault. I can't imagine why there would be a cut out for the programmer on the fan circuit board. but I checked my fan board anyway and all appeared to be well.

Top oven appears to have no power going to it.

Contact an electrician and or the power company.
I believe you have lost the neutral/ground in your power service.

Stoves 720ef electric double oven not working

According to the circuit diagram on page 31 of the handbook, power for the ovens passes through the clock. The power feed is direct for the actual clock but via a seperate Thermal Cutout for both the top and bottom ovens. I think it is highly unlikely that both Thermal Cutouts have failed at the same time. I would try turning the power off totally to the oven for a while and then turning it back on, set the time and ensure the oven is in manual mode. As the top and bottom ovens have seperate controls after the Programmer and both are not working, it has to be the programmer that is not extending the power through to the rest of the oven.
