It just stretches to pull off, the new one just stretches to pull it on. If you take the head to a pool store they will do this for you for just the price of parts. They will inspect the whole head at the same time.

My magnavox dvd player will start to read a dvd, but then says disc error. This has happened on every dvd I have tried

Usually this means either a dirty or bad optical pickup in the unit which is what reads the disc.

If you look in front section when ceiling cover is off, there should be a probe about 2"-3" long stuck in the fins a couple of inches up from bottom, or a round disc like piece with a clip to attach to tubes in the fins. That is what senses frost on fins and shuts compressor off. Should have 2 small wires attached. Look closely up there with a flashlight near lower part of fins and you'll see where it was pushed in for attaching.

The flexifoot on my old baracuda is split

What do you mean by flexifoot, and what do you mean split? The large rubber disc is called the "durometer" disc (on the G3 it's called a finned disc). The small rubber pad the the big one fits over is called a "foot pad", the foot pad fits over a hard piece called the foot plate. That being said.... if your referring to the durometer disc being split, or torn, I assume it is very worn out and needs to be replaced. if it's new and torn then it may still work fine. if it is worn out chances are you need to replace the foot pad, and possible a couple other pieces.

My PS3 will not read any discs, it was working fin...

This is a very common problem.

It probably needs a new laser because the old one is "burnt out". It's a really common problem with them.

You could replace the laser or the entire Bluray drive.

You can buy these online at may online stores or eBay.

Sony will repair it for a whopping $150 USD plus shipping, or you can get a third party repair place to do it for probably $80-$120.

My carousel continuously spins back and forth and won't stop. Help! Thank you.

This can be a nasty... I had one that did this. The cause was having put a bit of force on plastic tabs extending out the bottom panel.

These tabs pushed a part into a set of fins on the turret and broke two off. I had to reattach those as they go between a photo cell interrupter that counts and keeps track of where the turntable is. There is a single fin that registers the start and then it counts from there and looks to see if a disk is in the slot and remembers which slots are filled.

The normal intial cycle finds the single fin and then counts around to make the list of filled slots.

The turntable can be lifted out when the cover is removed and inspected for loss OR bending over of the fins. One can CAREFULLY glue bent ones back in place, making sure the glue doesn''t block mechanical movement.

Thermo seneor hanging in side a/c freezes up. need

If it's the probe type, insert into fins up about 3-4 inches from bottom. If disc type, look for hole in frame on left side, low ,disc fits through hole, and clips on to coil in behind there. You should be able to feel the coil with finger first, just push a little on fins.

1991 ford laser kf 5 door

I asked my family mechanic and he said with an automatic transmission if there is a variance in rpm its usually an issue with the torque converter. Basically it's a closed housing with a fluid and two discs with fins on either end. on disc is connected to the engine one is connected to the transmission. as the the disc on the engine side spins, it starts to spin the liquid inside the housing which then spins the disc connected to the transmission. That's how an automatic car is able to have low rpms at a red light and not move unlike a manual transmission that uses a clutch. But unlike a manual where there is a physical connection between the engine and transmission. This is where you can loose power and waste rpms. My mechanic suspects that this is where the issue may be. He said that if the fins on one or both blades are damaged, it may reduce the amount of power transfer which in turn wold be higher engine rpms or basically the issue you're having. Hope that helps,
