Its the capacitors on the backlight power supply. Samsung installed crappy ones and they blow up after a year or two. Change out the caps and you're good to go

I have anew Samsung 55 inch model code ue55h6500akxxu but it will not store my settings as soon as i turn tv off an on again it goes back to custom settings

This is from an article I found online:

"It's likely that the television is in Shop Mode. The symptom would be that your settings are defaulted back to the out-of-box settings?

Try holding down the Menu button on the TV (Not remote) for 12 seconds.

OR

Try pushing the volume button up once, let go, and then hold down the MENU button for about 12 seconds.

You might see the screen flicker, and that's okay. Once you've done that, you should be able to program your settings and they should stay.

Brightness set to all the down

There should be a menu button on the monitor. Press this button, it has it's own brightness settings. Press the "factory settings" button; monitor should return to normal brightness.

Screen dim, black has green in it, contrast and brightness = shin

Since you have replaced the Color Wheel, it sounds like you have not adjusted the Index Delay in the service menu. First reset all of the picture settings you have adjusted back to original factory settings. Then on your Samsung TV Remote and with the TV OFF, Press Mute,Power,123. This will turn on the set and put you in the Service menu. Look for the top setting and select or scroll to the OPTION setting and select and look for INDEX DELAY and select that. Once you have the Index Delay selected use the right and left buttons on the remote to adjust for a picture the has no abnormal coloring and while looking at a program adjust for when the blacks look black with no abnormal coloring. Once that is done, turn off the set then turn the set back on. Now the picture should look normal.

Look at the I/O port (the round one on the top left side) and extract any foreign material that may be lodged inside the port. You can use compressed air but not the tip of pencil as the "lead" (in fact graphite) is an electrical conductor.

To reset the calculator the RAM must be cleared

To clear RAM
  1. Press [2nd][+] to access (MEM) memory management
  2. Press [7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset][ENTER]
  3. Press [CLEAR] to erase "Ram Cleared" message.
After you reset the Ram you may have to adjust screen contrast
  1. Press [2nd] key and release it
  2. Press and hold
  • Up Arrow to darken screen, or
  • Down Arrow to lighten it.

Calculator occasionally can be turned on, occasionally cannont. Batteries are perfectly fine, because I tried several times in switching them. Everything else with the calculator normal.

Either the ON button is sticky and hard to press or contact is not good (calculator may have been dropped and casing is loose)
OR you have to adjust the contrast of the screen.

To adjust contrast

  1. Press [2nd] key and release it.
  2. Press and HOLD [UPArrow] key to darken screen or [DownArrow] key to lighten.
  3. Release the Arrow keys when contrast is to your liking.

Blank (dark) screen

Yes,

But, this requires you to access the screen adjustment buttons on the front side panel bezel or on the side of your screen's panel bezel.

I'll be, owning a few flat panels, the first to tell you that dealing with these buttons is tortuous. The are labeled but poorly, Usually the top or first button is the Menu button. When you press this one you will have the menu displayed on screen. If you don't, your screen is dead and needs replacement under warranty or not. Otherwise, the other buttons are up, down, ok and exit. Figuring out which buttons are which of these is nothing but a headache and frustrating.

You need to access the menu, navigate your way around the many menus until you find the Reset or Restore Factory Presets. Or, even just words to that effect. Once you do find it, pressing it should bring your screen up to normal display, you can do this while your PC is off. After getting the Presets Reset, you could find the brightness and contrast adjustments. Normally, you want Brightness at 100% and Contrast at 50%. Gamma adjusts the white level of your display, so don't mess with that until you are in Windows once again and can see your desktop on your display.

If your screen is tinted either Red or Green and even Blue for that matter your plug at the monitor is loose, use a flat blade screwdriver to tighten the plug down, same at your PC connector.

If you can't get to any of these places after trying everything for a first, second and third attempts, your flat panel has problems and needs service/replacement under warranty or not. LET ME KNOW this so I can assist you.

Other wise if its working again, go to this page and choose a download from link and once this program is downloaded, install it and run the program to make final adjustments or examine the test patterns to see if your flat panel is working as expected or not.

We have an Acer Travelmate 4200 and the screen is too dark how do you brighten the screen??

Most laptops have a function key (F1-12) with a picture that looks like a sun. Press and hold the FN button and the appropriate Function key. You should get a "slider" to adjust the contrast and brightness..

Some laptops also come with a program to make other display adjustments. Look at the Control Panel to see if you have one of those on your list. If not, check the "Display" application on the Control Panel, and under "Settings" see if you can adjust contrast or brightness that way.
