Question about Hotpoint Washing Machines

Open Question

My hotpoint aquarius WMF760 started making strange buzzing sounds this morning (whilst it wasn't in use) followed by clicking as if it was moving through the programmes. On trying to wash a load, nothing happened and I got a fault 1 notice. When I moved the machine to unplug it , I notice a drip from the bottom far left corner (as you look at the machine from the front). It is just a few days over 1 year old and very lightly used. Any ideas? Jan

SOURCE: Hotpoint aquarius WF541 will not switch on

If the washer doesn’t operate or make any noise when set on any cycle, or if it stops suddenly when it should continue onto the next cycle, it may not be receiving electrical power, or, if the motor stopped mid-cycle, the machine’s overload protector may have tripped. In this case, take out some of the articles to reduce the load and let the protector reset itself. Then restart the machine. Otherwise:

1) Be sure the machine is plugged in and turned on. If necessary, check the receptacle it’s plugged into for power, using a working lamp, appliance, or voltage tester. Be sure the washer lid is closed completely.

2) If the receptacle seems dead, check the circuit breaker or fuse that serves that circuit.

3) Unplug the washer, and check the power cord. If necessary, replace the cord.

4) Open the lid and check the lid switch and the tab on the lid that it pushes against. Press and release the switch. If it doesn’t click when you do this, it’s probably broken. If you’re experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call a repairperson.

5) If the washer still doesn’t work, the controls may be faulty. Call a service person.

Thanks for your question

SOURCE: hotpoint aquarius wma34 washing machine - flooding and clicking

Sounds like it could be relatively expensive to put right.
Personally, I think you would be better in investing in a new washer, more so in view of the fact that is 7 years old.
There are numerous possibilities for the symptoms you describe.
Hope this helps you to come to a decision.

SOURCE: Bra wire stuck between inner and outer drum how to

Depends where it is stuck. If near the very front you can sometimes get them by removing the door seal to gain a small access between drums. Other ways is remove the outlet pipe from the bottom of the drum or easiest and most probable area where it stuck is remove heating element. Provides a better view and bra wires normally get stuck on them.

Problem with a hotpoint wmf760 aquarius + error code h20 coming up

You may have soap & grease in the pipe that leads to the pressure switch. Remove and flush through and/or replace. dry before refitting.
Thus constant high would give pump faults (thinks machine still contains water). Constant low may cause over filling. If you have a plug that suddenly moves, that can cause the above errors.

The wash dial on my hotpoint wmf760 is not selecting

The knob needs to be removed and the knob and the mating part will need to be replaced. The teeth on these parts wear off with time. There is a clip on the back of the knob that pulls off this holds the knob on. Then the mating piece will pull out. Eneter your model # at www.appliancehelponline.com for diagrams and illustrations. All parts come with installation instructions.

Hotpoint aquarius 1100 bangs while spinning

Several possible reasons for this. M/C not level, causing it to move about.
Overloading of m/c.
Loose concrete balance weight, there is one at top and one at bottom.
Suspension spring broken or unhooked.
Suspension leg loose or broken.
Main drum bearings worn, to check this, turn drum by hand and if it feels noisy or rough , then bearings have gone (expensive repair).
There are other possible causes, but these are the main reasons.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Hotpoint Aquarius belt slippped

Hi.

It sounds like your washer may have a major problem.

If it was so noisy, it sounds to me as though the main drum bearings have gone, or the motor bearings, that being the case, I woukld recommend that you do not use the washer until it is checked out.

Hope this helps!!!
