Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS120 27" TV
I have a Trinitron WEGA model # KV-27FS120, Chasis BA6. It was
manufactured in July 2005. When I plug it in and press the power
button, it clicks, the stand by/timer LED blinks four times, pauses, then blinks 2 times. It continues this 2 blink pattern until I unplug it.
1. Is this an easy fix for a DIY'er?
2. Can I order the part through Sears?
3. Is there a diagram of what the part looks like and where it is located?
4. Is the tv worth fixing?
Thank you for your assistance.
This is not for a DIY're.
It is possible that the flyback transformer and the horizontal output transistor have failed. Also there may be damage in the power supply when these components fail.
When troubleshooting, it is important that the tech locate the cause of the fault and also change the related components.
After the parts are changed, the power supply and the high voltage setups must be done to make sure that the voltages are in specs.
This type of work must be done by an experienced TV tech. He will have the necessary test equipment, tools, service manuals, and training. There are some very serious safety issues when working in a TV set.
