Question about Panasonic DMR-EX75EB-S DVD Recorder/HDD Recorder

1 Answer

I have owned a Panasonic DMR-EX75 DVD recorder with hard drive for 4 years. When I returned from holiday recently, I was unable to get any of the TV channels. On resetting Autotune, it said that there was no input signal. So I then tested the aerial downlead with another TV/free view box and this worked perfectly. I have no idea what to try. I don't want to get rid of the machine as I have a huge number of films and programs recorded on the hard drive. Many thanks

Your tuner must be zapped, so no signal for TV. You have to replace the burned out module. Or buy a new unit and move the hdd into the new unit.

Well can you please explain the problem regrading the dvd drive on your panasonic dmr-ex75?
Anyway most of the time the fault is simple like dvd drive won't get outside the tray, if this is the problem then just shutdown your panasonic dmr for 10 minutes and turn it on and check if it works. please post further comments for detailed help.

The DVD player on my Panasonic DVD DMR-EX75 is not working. It no longer is able to read the DVD disk. Is it worth repairing or replacing the DVD drive? The system also has a large Hard Drive which still...

It is up to you, if you are able to obtain a replacement DVD drive for this model series, and it isn't too expensive, go ahead. There may be tips on installing the DVD deck on other forums - or it might be really simple (a DIY job) - or for extra labour costs, a qualified technician can fit it for you in a service centre.

So the short answer is YES it is worth repairing since the HDD is still functioning - if you are concerned about that as well as the DVD drive, get the whole unit assessed by a workshop; they can advise you further.

A second opinion always helps in a case like this, but I would recommend trying to obtain a replacement DVD drive for this model, either locally or by ordering online. This one IS fixable.
