Question about Nikon Cameras
Digital or film it is only about 20% camera. About 30% lens quality and 50% person behind the camera. Having said that, pick a moderate priced camera, either film or digital and learn how to use all the functions of that camera. Learn things like DOF (depth of field), AoV (Angle of View), aperture, shbutter speed and most imporatntly Light and its characteristics and how perture and shutter speed interplay with Light. Professional photographers know how to use light and how to control it. Take platy of pictures, take more pics, ask for HONEST critisizem about your work from others. take 2 or more shots of the same subject using different camera settings and see what appeals to you or what achieves what you are trying to portray. Then taake more photos. Take a photography calss from local colledge, photoclub, etc. Shoot more pictures. Only Experience can make you a better tha good Photographer. Patience and practice...practice and patience! Good Luck!
