the dock series 3 there isn't a place to plug in the memory card. at least i don't see where it is on the printer. will try to print from the computer.

  • chelseapaw Jun 21, 2008

hi (again) i download the pics onto my computer and printed it. the whole pic printed in full color. So , I guess the problem is with the dock station/printer not the camera. Thanks for working on this problem.

was wondering if you are still working on this problem? the printer is still only printing 1/2 of the pic

I am having the same problem with 1/2 the picture printing. I called tech support and if you hold down the print button and the transfer button at the same time for 10 seconds it will print a test page (without the camera or computer hooked to it). When I did this, it still printed 1/2 a test page. If you have proof of purchase < 12 months, it is covered. Otherwise it is $80 for the repair plus you pay for the shipping which means...go buy a new printer. Hope this helps!

am having the same problem here. Printing doc is over 12 months old and I don't want to pay to have it fixed. Am curious if this was a common problem with this series.

I have the same problem....I get the top half and the bottom is white. Sometimes, it prints the bottom half with the top half white. It is like it is attempting to print two pages. It reats the same with the computer or with the camera attached.

I was just reading the manual on this printer.

How are you printing to your printer?

Are you docking the camera, are you plugging the memory card in, or are you using a photo software program and using it as a printer?

I had the same problem. There is a rod that on one end has a plastic gear and cam mechanism, and on the other end is a plastic cam. This rod rotates and pushes the print head against the paper. On my unit the plastic cam (not the one with the gear) split and was not putting pressure on the head on what would be the top half of the picture. I determined the proper position for the cam and super glued it in place. Now it is working like new.

It could be a few things.

How does it print if you take the memory card out of the camera and plug it into the printer?

How does it print if you print from the computer?

I want to find out if there is something going on with the dock interface either on the printer or on the camera.

Canon selphy printer only printed half the picture

it seems the print head worn out. do carefully clean the head with alcohol/check the pressure on both side of the print head(thermal head) it should be same. re assemble the thermal head cable.

Finally replace the head (not suggested)
Thanks.

Why does my cannon cp-200 printer only print half the image already changed ink cassette

it is probably set to print a certine size of the photo, can you do a print preview before printing and see what that looks like, then check all your print settings.

I was only getting the bottom half of printed words. Ran test pages, alignment, clean printheads. These inks are brand new. It also did it with my other inks which is why I replaced them. I have Kodak...

Cleaning the print-heads is the correct action to take -- if the ink-jets are clogged, then the ink (in either old or new cartridges) cannot be sprayed onto the paper.

Note that the print-head has multiple jets -- like painting across a wall with a wide paint-brush.
So, if you don't have paint on the top half of the brush, then only the bottom half of each row on the wall will get painted.

Try some more head-cleaning cycles.

We have a Kodak easyshare series 3 camera and dock and when printing it only prints the lower half of the picture.

SOLVED!!
eppelr is correct, the small white cam on the right hand side at the top (internally) cracks and this allows it to come loose on its shaft and stops it from pressing the thermal head down onto the ink film on one side. If like me you have the top of the range bluetooth model its worth buying an old basic model off ebay for a tenner and robbing the shaft out of that. The mechanics are more or less the same and the shaft itself is identical, Doubt you would be able to buy the shaft seperate from Kodak, Thanks eppelr, I now have two working plus 3's.
If anyone wants pics etc please get in touch

Print Quality - Shadowing

What does the white roll on the maintenance kit look like?
Is it really dirty? It could be either the kit, maybe the ink.
But in partiular if the kit was stood on end and not stored laying flat, the lubricant in the kit may have saturated one side and depleted on the other.
I have never seen the non Xerox ink, and have no clue if it would cause a problem like that.
I suspect a maintenance kit, that it is dry on one end.

Only half of picture is printing

I have the same problem where only the bottom half of my photo prints. It worked fine for a long time. I even tried flashing the printer up to the 2.11 firmware version from 1.90 - still nothing. Changed paper and cartridge. NOTHING. Tried attaching it to both my PC & MAC and even print stand alone picture from camera and a SD memory card on the side. NOTHING.

I think the problem is with Kodak... My trouble started when I decided to move my Dock Printer from PC over to MAC. The new drivers have you flash the Firmware. To do this, you first must hold down the Print and Red EYe Button (The button directly to the right of the big print button) with the power cord unplugged and then plug it in holding the buttons in for 2 seconds afterward.

This put the printer into Edit mode and allows the firmware to upgrade the printer. Once I did that, THAT'S when my problem started. I think these crappy printers can NOT self calibrate and they must be factory set. Most likely, they need to do it at the factory themselves and are all to happy to charge you to ship it off and do it for you.

THANKS KODAK!

What a POS.
