Adding speed dial nos to uniden waterproof handset
Hello, I am helping a friend to put speed dial nos into his phone.. He has a Uniden system with an additional water proof hand set
. I was able to set up the handset with the answering machine but he has misplaced the book for the waterproof hand set.
Is it possible to add the numbers to the waterproof handset .. as this is the one he primarily uses?
Re: Adding speed dial nos to uniden waterproof handset
I found the model no, on the Uniden website DSS 7805WP and down loaded the manual.. there were no instructions .. but i showed where the phone book icon was .. and once inside the phone book the process was the same as the handset that came with the answering machine.

From your handset, you just have to press the mute button, your phone should start telling you the time, date, ect. press the #5 key and then the #8 key and start recording your message. When finished press the # 8 key again. Hope this helps
This phone uses inductive charging because of the waterproof feature. I suggest that you remove the battery cover from the back of the handset, unplug the battery, and then plug it back into the handset. This solution worked for me.
On the base, open the menu and select Register Handset. The display should say Handset Registering. On the handset you want to register, press and hold # until the handset display says Handset Registering (about 2 seconds). 1. 2. DSL filterTelephone cordTelephone wall jack 45 In about 30 seconds, the handset display should say Registration Complete. Press Talk/fl ash and make sure you get a dial tone. If... Try... you don't hear a dial tone the display says Registration Failed -- Making sure the handset is fully charged, then start over at step 1.
I had the same problem as long as they are plugged in correctly and you put the #2 handset into the #1 cradle to register it to your base then try hanging the phone up several times. These are expandable phones so that I believe you can keep adding other handsets. So sometimes they think you have a few more handsets than you really have so when you hang up it may not know what handset you are hanging up #1 #2 or #3 #4 etc. So I had to keep hanging them up until it finally hung up. Then I had to re install them so it knew I only had 2 hand sets. So then you start from the beginning, like when you took it from the packaging. I hate these phones. I ended up replacing them with different ones. Plus I always keep a rotery phone laying around put away because during a power outage you still can plug in an old dial phone and it will work! Nothing like old technology.
Press and hold a number key (0-9) associated with the speed dial until the phone number appears, and then press talk/flash or speaker on the handset or speaker on the base. The number stored in the speed dial is dialed.
Yes, I have had nothing but trouble with my V-Tech ia5823.
Slow to dial, dropping out going calls and now the base light is flashing at a rapid pace and will not charge the handset.
I want to return it to Wal-Mart but have misplaced the recepit.
I will never buy another V-Tech..Uniden is the way to go!
