OK you have to reinstall your audio driver Ok try this
1. Go to this site and download the ADI soundmax audio driver with cadenza software just click this link
2. After downloading the file install it..

checkk with ur volume configuration on right side bottom of ur system.
wthr its muted..
if its nt muted
den u might not be having ur audio driver installed..
if u have driver cd (which is obtained while purchase)
check in dat and install audio drivers and restrat..
if u dont have driver cd serch in google..wit ur pc model ..
or use common audio drivers from realtec..serch in google for that
it depends on the system board it is not all the motherboard that automatically install drivers on installation of vista, try download the audio driver from hp
Ur thinkcenter does not support realtek ac 97 sound driver indeed it supports ADI SoundMAX audio driver which u can download by using following link here is the link
