Netgear WGR614 problem

By Janice - usenet poster

This wireless router will not access certain pages.  I was told to try
MTU setting (reducing it from 1500 to ?).  Anyone know what best
might be for Bellsouth DSL??
I have the same problem.

Try setting it to 1492. Lineshare DSL (ASDL) typically uses PPPoE to connect to your ISP's gateway. The overhead involved in making the PPP connection will reduce the default Ethernet frame size from 1500 to 1492 (8 bits).

That should work for you. Also remember you'd be changing that MTU on the WAN side, not LAN.
