SOURCE: Low flame/ side burner dosen't light

Try this, close your burners and your propane tank off, let sit for a couple of minutes. Making sure your burners are off turn on the propane tank and let it pressurize the line for a couple of minutes. Turn on the burner that is closest to your igniter and light it. After that burner is lit then you cn turn on the other burners. Good luck and hope tht solves your problem.

Turn on just one burner, once it is lit, turn on a second burner, if the flame gets lower or goes out, you probably need a new regulator.

SOURCE: problem with gas flow, flame not hot enough to

Possibly you need to adjust your regulator but don't try that until you try this.
With the new style OPD tanks the male fitting must screw in deep enough to depress the valve fully to get max gas flow - in the female tank fitting there is a small brass ring that can back off and not allow the valve to fully open.
tighten this brass ring and you troubles should go away, or take the tank to a good LP service center and they should have the correct wrench to fix it

VERY LOW HEAT ONCE LIT. TAKES EXTREMELY LONG TIME TO COOK ANYTHING AND THE FOURTH BURNER DOES NOT LIGHT

The new propane bottles have a safety device in them that shuts down the gas if it senses the gas is going out the bottle too quick. Thank you Ralph Nader. To remedy this yall shut all valves off and remove the tank from the grill. Open and close all valves just for fun making sure all of them are off. Then reconnect the tank to the grill and SLOWLY open the triangle shaped valve to just bare ly open, maybe half a turn or less and then retry. More here

I have my Weber Q grill hooked up to a large propane tank rather than the small tube type. It worked fine for a few weeks but now the grill only gets medium hot. Not hot enough to cook anything really. ...

Seems as if your grill is suffering from "Clogged Burner Syndrome". But, don't despair, it's easily solved by removing and thoroughly cleaning the burners or "coil" as you called it. Also, pay particular attention to the venturi valves on the open end of the burner. Spiders like to build nests in them. The venturi valve will look like a slot on the right and left of the burner tube, where it fits over the burner orifice. It's really a good idea to perform this routine maintenance, at the start of each grilling season.

When it comes to gas grills, it's like Benjamin Franklin said, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

It doesnt heat evenly. Burners all fire perfectly, yet heat distribution is very hot in the center, and much cooler on the outer sides. This unit has 4 burners under grill. Any suggestions?

Tex, the other burners my be clogged, as well as the venturi valves. Remove the offending burners, inspect and clean them. That's usually the the problem, with what you described.

Hope this helps you. Happy Grilling!!

How do I light the grill manually

Get a butane grill lighter. Open the hood of your grill. Remove the cooking grates and one by one turn the burner to low. Light the butane grill lighter prior to turning the burner on and as you turn the burner to low touch the flame of the lighter to the burner. Leave all burners on low, until you replace the cooking grates. Be very very careful, as you don't want gas to buildup before each burner is lit.

Then contact Brinkman for replacement ignitors.

Now, the most common problem on all recent gas grills is that the regulator in the gas hose now has a safety feature which prevents it from leaking. Sometimes this feature gets stuck.

Unscrew your propane tank from the regulator, tap the regulator a couple of times and reattach it. This may solve your problem. If not, use the link above.
