We ran a typical Asus laptop battery of tests, including games, applications, and a couple other areas. Time constraints limited the amount of testing we could get done before the NDA lift (and it's already a few hours late), but we will be providing a follow-up article with further testing and information. That said, if there are any specific areas that you'd like to see tested, feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment.

I have LifeFrame application for the use of the webcam in ASUS Notebook, but when I try to use it in another application it says the camera is inactive/been used. When I close LifeFrame, the camera turns...

The camera should be available to be used without LifeFrame. See if there any options in Options (or Preferences) at the LifeFrame software, where you can choose if the camera should be used with it. If you can't figure it out, contact LifeFrame tech support, they should be able to help you with the setup. Or if you don't find a solution, uninstall the software and just use windows to administer the camera.

My Asus K501 webcam will not open. In Lifeframe, it says it is being used by another application.

Try taking a look at this forum page as a few people have had some success here: http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20080623193235718&board_id=24&model=AF-200&SLanguage=en-us&page=1
It would seem that facial recognition utilities for logging in that use the webcam or screensavers that use the webcam can take exclusive control of it.

I have an asus laptop, and the built in webcam worked for about to weeks but it just stoped working, when i to open lifeframe it says the camera is being used my another program help me fix it

Did you try reinstalling the drivers? Maybe try uninstalling the webcam device from the Device Manager first.
Sometimes programs that install later can affect the workings of existing software or devices.
More ideas here.

I have an Asus G51vX and the webcam won't start. Everytime I open LifeFrame I get this message ''The camera is being used by another program'' and even on MSN messenger ''We couldn't start your camera...

Its a thing called Twain driver. It is associated with another program. You may try uninstalling all the drivers for your cam using an uninstaller program that cleans out all the registry and left over files and re-install the software. The twain is used for all imaging hardware to software.

Asus Webcam constantly being used by mystery application

Built in webcams are not the easiest to troubleshoot as its difficult to reboot the webcam software.
With my plug-in I can just disconnect it for a couple of seconds to reboot it and clear the previous program.
Its not unusual for webcam software to remain hooked up to a program even after you exit it correctly.
What is unusual with yours the webcam comes on when you start your computer.
You might try to disable your webcam and then enable it again in the 'Imaging' folder of your Device Manager to see if the webcam light goes off and remains off when you enable it again.
You should be able to see where the webcam is being used by launching your Task Manager and hitting the Application tab.
Hope you can get your problem sorted and post some information on it for future reference
