Colors double My tv is doing double wording/images in some places. When you cover up the green light in the back, everything goes to normal except the colors. Any suggestions to what the problem is?

The problem of your tv is the convergence. Projection tv set has a 3 colors red,blue and green this 3 colors must be properly lined up to look the video normal. When this 3 colors is not properly aligned the video will produce a double image of color or like a 3d or wavy. In order to fix this problem you should adjust it in the menu program of your tv you should move any of the colors to up or down, left or right if you cannot align the 3 colors the problem is the convergence ic it must be replace. To locate the convergence ic you should remove the back cover of your tv but be sure to unplug your tv, you will see this ic attached in a large aluminum plate it has a marking of stk--- and followed by a numbers. or you could contact a service technician do do it for you and save you from stress. sounds like a major fault with the line output transformer/power board. if no green on screen, tube is on it's last legs. Advise to scrap, not to repair, cost in excess of £200

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. it soinds like a convergence problem, i would try haveing someone take a look at it

Take the monitor back, it's failing.

You should have a TV repairman look at your set to see if you have a bad tube in the set, It might just be a convergence ishue, if thats the case it might be worth fixing.

If the images are different colors (red,green,blue) then the convergence has diverged. Some TV allow re-convergence through the menu screen, older sets my need to be physically adjusted (aimed) to clear this up. a strong knock to the TV may have cause this.

Goto menu and look for convergence control and realign colors.

the color which you see has problem i think you might be seeing white slanting lines also with this. it mainly due to 1 supply to green video supply 2 loose cuntact in g.video section 3 green tr. defective 4 ckt from ic to green input is defective 5 chroma ic defective if supply is ok. regards

I need some answers here... Do you have only one video source to test it? Is this happening with an external source or with your tv tuner or both? I need more info....
