Green line has just appeared on prima tv

This usually happens if there is a broken pin or sector.
In most cases its just the cable that have gotten lose or needs to be cleaned/replugged into the tv.

TODO:
1. Turn off the TV, Take out the cable that provides the feed (antenna cable, internet cable etc.).
2. Look for signs of damage/tear on the tv and the cable. If all looks well, plug the cable in again, making sure its attached correctly.
3. Turn on the TV.

If the problem persists, try adjusting the cable while the tv is on. If the line goes away and comes back, then you need a new cable or in worst case a new tv (check warranty) .

Total replacement of power cable and plug. you will need to buy new flex and plug. normally two core flexible (multicore not solid core) cable.

Open up the rear case to the tv and keep all screws. DO NOT touch the end of the tv tube as high voltage lingers a while after unplugging. You are looking / tracking the power cable where it fits to the tv motherboard.

Take a standard solder iron and remove each cable in turn. noting the colour and positions. Prepare your new cable feeding it into the casing and motherboard to suit. Apply flus and solder to secure each new cable in place. Hold cable while it sets and cools. CHECK there is no solder connecting these cables together for obvious reason these DO NOT connect together.

Replace casing and all screws in reverse order.

You should have a good to go new cable and a tv working fine.

New Samsung LCD TV won't turn on or off

This is the best solution for your problem as a 40 year experience with wires etc. Go to the source of your cable signal connector . Open it and clean the terminals with emery paper , sand the end of the cable shiny clean from corrosion , get a new barrel connectors with gold terminals if possible lengthen the ends of the cable , insert and tighten good, use thick rg-16 or rg 40 cable with good insulation ends crimped professionally with a crimpier or buy ready made , not from dollar store. Get a gold plated professional splitter if you need one or two , it will cost about 15 or more each . Make the cable runs as short as possible, using the thick good cables. If needed get a signal magnifier. From radio shack or the source etc. Connect them good and tight . Ground the splitters . Problem solved , you will get crystal clear channel 2 to 7 including 3 and 4 . Isolate the TV cable from other cables and power wires. Vitally

My remote wont change channels

I need to use the cable remote to change the channel and the TV remote to change volume.
That is because your TV is looking at the output of the cable box (probably on channel 3 or 4) so the TV has to be statically tuned to see the cable box's output.
On the second question; I, and perhaps others, can't answer this without spending a lot of time to download manuals for both systems while you have them (presumably, since they are new) on hand. You didn't include the TV's model number anyhow so even that wouldn't be adequate.
The home theatre may have a receiver but what does it receive? Unless it also has channel capabilities that correspond to cable channels, it can't. The typical routing should be from the cable box to the TV S-video input and the sound can be routed separately from the cable box to either/or both, the home theatre's and also the TV's audio inputs.
When I am installing new stuff, I make a sketch of the routing I want (or have) to use. To me, this is less confusing than the supplied instructions.

ok so what you need to do is put the cable from your cable provider/ antenna (or what ever you use)to the combo players CABLE IN connection.. then color match of the red yellow and white cables from the OUT on the combo to the IN on the TV your tv has to be set on AUX sometimes called L1 or L2 depending on your tv and which set of red yellow and white holes on the tv you use... your combo will also probably need to be turned on.. try that should work!

Your TV should be an output, only the cables are different.

Let me know the exact model of your tv, and what cable you are using to connect it, so that I can give you more information.

My Emerson VCR

Hi, Since your "new cable box" is directly connected to your TV via the A/V (Video 1), it is not attached in anyway to the VCR, hence the VCR is not receiving any "tv shows." What you need to do is remove the A/V connection of the new cable box and put them into the A/V INput of your VCR. You may then continue using Ch 3 on your TV to watch your VCR and also be able to record tv shows. The only drawback is that the VCR must also be powered on to watch tv shows. It is also possible to use the A/V OUTput of the VCR and connect them to the TV A/V INput (where the cable box used to be connected). Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
