If you are still able to start and see the BIOS scrren briefly at loading, then press F8 key repeatedly (and quickly} right after the power button. Choose to enter "Safe Mode". From safe mode, download Malwarebytes Free Edition and run it there. That should break through for you.

Otherwise, you'll need to open the computer and pull the CMOS Battery, then hold down the power button for 2 minutes, replace the battery and go back to above instructions.

Please be considerate in rating as you've not provided the brand and model of motherboard, nor the operating system, both of which can be critical to providing a successful solution.

Kind Regards,

Selk

Need more info on computer type, if your trying to format the recovery drive youll find that it wont let you, If you have a windows xp or 7 disc you can format the drive from the bootable xp or win 7 disc.
The disc maybe locked when operating system is running, Do you have more than one partition,
Download malwarebytes and run it in safe mode as well get hold of Superantispyware install and run in safe mode, also get hold of Combofix.exe, these are all freeware progs and do a great job of removing malware, do you know what malware you are infected with

Why does my antivirus detect malware in predownloaded app SMS General?

Antivirus programs are notorious for detecting malware on programs that they are unfamiliar with. If you read the apps page, it may contain a notice saying it has been incorrectly flagged as malware before. If you want to help, you can report it to your Antivirus support to fix the problem for everyone.

My dell mini inspiron is making a loud noise and then windows display but always flashing

The loud noise indicates high processing from CPU and/or GPU, increasing the temperatures, therefore the need from cooler to operate at max. However since your screen is flashing, it means something is wrong with your GPU. You probably got those mining malware, I recommend to start in SAFE mode (F8 at start) and then run a reliable anti-malware, anti-virus too, start to uninstall programs, etc. If this is too complicated to you, it might be better to just re-format and re-install the entire Windows thing. Never trust in pir8 software, a LOT them contains mining malware today.

TDK Trans-IT 8gb flash drive is unable to format. It gives an error that says this disk is write protected, please assist.

get a copy of the software from TDK itself at:

http://www.tdk-media.eu/downloads/trans_it_usb_password_pr_english.exe

it's a self contained .exe file no installation needed. This will format your flash for you if you need to and the program gets retained.

if you want a pc based format copy the software somewhere in your hard drive. in myu computer right click your flashdisk, format (fat 32 better). There clean as a whistle. copy back flashlock, then partition as you wish.

Unable to copy video fiels which are in mp4 format...

does the pc recognise the device when you connect it? if so you should be able to access the drive which contains the mp4 folders. very rare that they will be kept on the top level of the drive. navigate to the folder on the device which would normally contain your mp4 files and drag files from your storage backup folder direct to the device. checking that you have the files in the correct format ie: .mp4 you should find they play fine. try to avoid wherever possible using the acctual software which controls your music device as they are prone to complications.

Downloaded a movie. wen to play it and it says,"content blocked go to http:/movie-help.com to unblock this film!

I believe the movie is bait for a fly-by Trojan installer or scam.
Delete the file using the command prompt and scan your machine for malware !!!!

Use SEVERAL reputable anti-virus products, such as:

AVG, KASPERSKY, McAfee, SpyBot SD, Adaware
f-protect, black-light, rootkit revealer....

The WEB site was recently created and then removed by
some **** in Germany.

You need to be extremely careful when downloading movies,
because most movie formats contain facilities for WEB links
and active Java scripts, which can contain dangerous malware,
or links to a daisy chain of evil websites that will in turn install
malware on you computer, if you are not EXTREMELLY careful.

Media files, such as AVI, MPG and WMV can also contain
code which will crash or even damage windows explorer as
soon as you click on the movie file, even without launching
the movie.

This is because Windows Explorer uses two DLL files:
shmedia.DLL and shimgvw.DLL which scan every media file
you touch in order to create preview thumbnails.

A carefully crafted media file will cause buffer overflow and
crash Windows Explorer.

These files are even extremely difficult to remove,
because windows will crash every time you touch them.

Don't use Internet explorer (any version) and use Firefox
instead. Disable scripts, except for trusted websites.

Download and Install Firefox addons to block scripts,
such as "No script" by Giorgio Maone.

This utility will prompt you to accept or reject scripts
when you are browsing.

Avoid *.wmv media files, they almost alway contain WEB
links as bait.

Be careful where AVI and MPG files come from.

Be suspicious of unreasonably small files, that come from
large numbers of peer to peer sources and download very
quickly. SCAM companies have the fastest servers on
peer to peer networks.

Scan EVERY downloaded file for malware.

Hopefully this will make you safer.

"formatting problem"

I had a similar problem, I could upload songs, but they wouldn't play and I couldn't delete them. turned out it was cause I didn't have WMP10 installed on my PC, had an older version. the user manual states it only works with WMP10, and after I installed it (just search for windows media player 10 on the microsoft website) I was able to use the synch function in WMP10 and all the songs are playable (I'm listening to an album as I type :D)
