Within Control Panel select Region and Language. Select the language you require and download the language from Microsoft.com if it is not on your install disc.
Hope that helps.

Good Morning Sirs, I was wondering to know, after having installed Windows 7, on my HP DV9000 Series Laptop, shift 2 = at and Shift 3 = hyphen are not working, in that place of @ and £ are...

The keyboard layout / Language of your PC may have been changed, so follow these steps to select the International keyboard layout:

- Go to Control Panel - Region and Language settings
- On the Keyboards and Language tab, click Change keyboards.
- Click Add.
- Expand the language that you want. For example, English (United States).
- Expand Keyboard list, select the United States-International check box, and then click OK.
- In the Default input language list, click Language name - United States-International (where Language name is the language that you selected in step 4), and then click OK two times.
- In the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click OK.

Notice that the Language bar appears on the taskbar. When you position the mouse pointer over it, a ToolTip appears that describes the active keyboard layout.
- Click the Language bar, and then click United States-International on the shortcut menu that appears.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

GoodLuck!
Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help!

Install gray disc 1, shut down, press and hold C to boot from disc, select install in English or whatever language you speak, go to the top and select utilities, select disc utility, select your hard drive on the left side of the screen select repair disc permissions, and let the laptop do it's thing. Then select repair disc and let the laptop do it's thing. Now quit, and restart from hard drive. See if that don't help you any old chap.
