Go to menu then set up and select antenna and either hit enter or exit menu and that should do it. That is how I set mine up on my Vizio setting it up from antenna to cable.

I sure do hope that helps cause tv remotes can cause a real headache sometimes.. If it don't work let me know and I will try to look up a manual for the programming for your TV and Remote if you provide me a model number and stuff that would be required..

I don't want to use the antenna on my Sanyo Ds20930

You have to enter its service mode to rectify this problem. Just contact any expereinced tech, as this is a very risky and skilled work. The tech know, what to do.

My viewsonic N3751w LCD TV won't receive air signal. It has a built-in digital tunner so it should be able to receive several air signal without a need to have a digital to analog converter

Check that your antenna is sufficient for your location and oriented correctly. Try antennaweb.org for the most likely channels; tvfool.com has a much greater list of channels and the antennas needed to receive them. Both sites assume external antennas and warn that trees and buildings around your location may cause interference.

If you have a splitter connecting one antenna to several TVs, consider using an amplifier to ensure that the TV gets sufficient signal strength. Remember digital TV is has all-or-nothing reception issues.

If you previously could pick up the stations with this TV and suddenly lost them, try resetting your TV. Unplug the unit for at least 10 seconds. Also restore the factory default settings and then rescan for all channels. The reset is possibly Menu, Options, Restore Default or Menu, Setup, Memory Recall. (Viewsonic has changed its menus at intervals so look for something similar). Once you find it, click enter then left or right arrow to YES, hit enter again. Then hit menu twice to exit the OSD menu and then re-enter the menus before trying to rescan channels.

Also check that the TV is looking for OTA and not cable signals. Check that the tuner is still working by retrying the scan in a spot you know that the antenna captures a stations signal. Make sure your antenna cable hasn't been damaged by anything.

If you recently had a power surge (lightning strike) near the antenna or cable, you may be in need of a new tuner. (BTDT with an older TV)

I hope this helps.

Can't change tv from cabl

Not knowing what brand or model you have, I would guess that you have a setting somewhere in the setup menu for that. If it is an older set it may have a switch on the back near the antenna/cable connector. Thanks for using fixya.

Off air antenna hook up

You probably have to set the tv to run on the input jacks your antenna is plugged in to. In other words these newer tv's have 2 or 3 inputs and they only run on the input it is set on, if not the right one you must change the setting. On mine there is a button next to the on/off button on the set which is inputs, keep pressing that button and it cycles through inputs till you get the right one. When tv first comes on it flashes the name of the current input on the screen--think they all do that. If input is hdmi, it refers to the hdmi socket, if composit (I think) then it refers to the rca jacks that are red, white, yellow, may be more than one of either. In this way you could have cable on one input, a video player on another, and cable on still another by switching desired input. I use a UHF antenna but it didn't work till I got the right input and then searched for stations studying the menu for station setup, have to set up the stations first, it will configure settings for each station, and have it do that before you can expect to find and receive stations. With correct input you should get a blue screen or something with printing if input is right, click your menu button and will see the menu and then find where to configure stations setup, otherwise it is totally black and nothing happens, nothing responds, that's the wrong input.

Cable/antenna

To change between cable and antenna on your TV,
Press Home to display the "XMB" menu.
pick "settings" on the menu
then pick "channel" on the next menu
under channel settings, select "on" for cable and "off" for antenna TV.

Your user manual is available for download and option printing at the following link :

Check the cable type settings it may be a switch on the back of the set or by the antenna input or at the bottom back cover . If no switch then if theres an on screen menu it should be somewhere there. if theres no on screen then theres gotta be a switch. this switch changes the AFC on cable systems from irc ,mirc or normal try all three settings one at a time while changing channels thats where this works . Good Luck
