Yo i just got a webcam today its a GigaWare product, and when i go to skype it says i have to like check this thing called...DirectX ??

We ran a typical Apple macbook pro 13 inch battery of tests, including games, applications, and a couple other areas. Time constraints limited the amount of testing we could get done before the NDA lift (and it's already a few hours late), but we will be providing a follow-up article with further testing and information. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your webcam - especially if you installed from a CD previously

I see person I call but they cannpt see me, only still picture can be seen. I printed the users guide and tried every thing..I am on Skype.

Try making sure you both have the same version of Skype. Sometimes an older version of Skype can also help.
Another thing to check is the DirectX version on both ends, as it is used for video rendering.
Some more ideas on how to fix webcam problems can maybe help as well.

Webcam is not displaying video

Check your webcam here by clicking allow in top window and see if webcam broadcasts in left hand panel

If working - proceed to Skype set up
If its not working -
Uninstall webcam software
Disconnect webcam
Restart computer
Download software from here

When working proceed

Start Skype.
On the Tools menu, click Options.
In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Audio Settings.
Select your webcam as the default microphone. (If it has a built-in mic)

Select your webcam as the default.
Click Save.
Test your webcam by making a Skype test call.
