Pull out your printer head and soak it with alcohol to remove clotted ink. For about 10 to 20 minutes then try again printing. Please observe only the printer head not the circuit of the printer head when soaking.

No yellow colour

If the yellow cartridge is full then you may have blocked yellow printhead nozzles.
Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new printhead is required.
A new printhead maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

Perform print head deep cleaning from the printer driver.
1. Right-click the printer icon, and then select 'Properties'.

2. Click the 'Maintenance' tab, and then click 'Deep Cleaning'.

maintdeep.jpg 3. Select the nozzles that need to be cleaned and click 'OK'.

4. Read the message displayed, and then click 'OK'. The power lamp blinks and print head deep cleaning starts. (Do not perform any other operations until print head deep cleaning is complete. Print head deep cleaning takes about 1 minute.)

How do you go about cleaning printer head

there is a cleaning utility "printhead clean" and printhead deep clean" under "maintenance" in the "printer properties". Try that first. If that doesn't help and there is definitely ink in the cartridge(s), you can remove the cartridges and soak the printheads in 5mm of hot water for 1/2 hour or so. DRY WELL then install back in printer and run "printhead deep clean".
Another way is to isolate the colour that doesn't print properly and print few pages in that colour (eg if yellow is not printing right...set out a full page of yellow background and print on high quality setting until yellow starts to print ok). This wastes less ink than the cleaning utility.

good luck with it

L7680 has been printing perfectly - printed

Yes, you can pop the cover on the right over where the printhead parks, and remove the black/yellow printhead and soak it in about a 1/4 inch deep water for 30 mins or so, you only want the nozzle area on the bottom in the water. However if you are using generic inks it may report a printhead failure soon. After soaking you dab the bottom on a paper towel and look for a solid black line on the towel.

My printer is printing really poor photos - they see to have lines running thru them. I have already replaced the cartridges

This is not a problem with the ink cartridges but the printhead.
Please follow the below mentioned steps:
  • Reseat the ink and the printhead. If you need help in doing so, please go to the link http://faqs.kodak.com/atg/faq/attachments/AUR1780-2.pdf
  • After reseating, it would ask you to calibrate for which it will display the instructions on the lcd screen.
  • Once you are through with the calibration, try celaning the printhead by choosing the Clean printhead option in the menu and do a Deep clean.
  • Then, try printing a Demo sheet by choosing Print demo sheet option from the menu.
If the problem still remains, you need a new printhead which you can get from Kodak free of cost.

Canon MF960 will not print yellow

The yellow may be clogged. Try cleaning the printhead by removing it from the printer and soaking the bottom (half inch deep) of printhead in warm window cleaining solution for a few hours.
