Question about Jensen Q2049J 20" TV
You can check your reote hansets condition, if you have a mobile phone with camera option. Put the phone onto camera mode, and place your Tvs remote control's front side towrds the lens of the mobile, about a feet away from it, and push remote switches one by one. You can see an image of infrared light comes from it for each button push. If it is there, you can make sure that your remote handset iw working. If not the trouble is with your remote hanset, not at the TV.
If remote handset have infrared emission, as described earlier, and you cannot control the TV with it, the remote sensor inside your TV is faulty. Ok
