If it is dirty you can clean any fingerprints with a dry cotton t-shirt ; however if the disc reads unreadable you might have to buy a new disc.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a super smash brothers melee disk with alot of scratches on it. i am wondering how to fix it

The best way to fix any scratched disc is to have it resurfaced. Most second-hand game stores and movie rental stores will provide this service for a small fee (usually $1 or $2 per disc), and the disc will come out looking and working like new!

The only exception to this is Dreamcast games (these can be damaged by resurfacing) and CDs with top side damage. GameCube games are DVDs, so there should be no problem at all when you resurface them.

How to fix gamecube games that won't work at all

If the disc is cracked, there's really no way to fix it. If it's just badly scratched, it might be saved by resurfacing the disc. Most used game stores and movie rental stores will resurface a disc for a very small fee, usually $1 to $2 per disc. If the scratches are too deep, though, even resurfacing might not help.

My Spyro the Dragon game will not play. It gets to the Playstation logo and freezes. I just had it resurfaced so it's not scratched. It is a Playstation 2 and plays all other games.

The best thing I could offer as advice is to cover the bottom of the disc with toothpaste, the toothpaste acts as a resurfacing agent and helps get rid of scratches, obviously clean the toothpaste off throughly before inserting the disc into the Playstation 2 disc tray.

I put the game inside the wii console and it read it just fine then it btold you to put the wrist ******** then it said it could not read the disc and to look at the manual. i lost it so i do not have it....

if this is the only game that does this then the disc is damaged and cannot read correctly or the disc is dirty. clean the disc with water and a soft cotton cloth and try again. if this persists look at the disc for scratches. you may need to get the disc resurfaced or replaced.

Disc scratched . any way to fix it - mw2

You could try buying a Disc resurfacer. Depending on the severity of the scratch, this COULD fix it. If a resurfacer doesn't work, then it may be beyond repair and you need to get a new copy of the game.

My ps2 screen says 'insert a playstation or a ps2 format disc

t's not asking for a specific disc, it's asking for a properly formatted PlayStation disc.

This message could mean that any one of several things has happened:
* You are trying to play a Japanese disc on a US PS2, or vice versa
* You are trying to play a game that has been copied onto a CD-R/DVD-R
* Your disc is scratched/dirty/otherwise unreadable
* Your disc isn't a format that the PS2 recognises (i.e. CD, DVD, PS CD-ROM, PS2 CD-ROM, PS2 DVD-ROM, etc)
* Your PS2 is broken

Had ps1 game resurfaced, no longer works on ps2

Sounds like you need to get your money back ..the resurfaceing can also do more bad than good
But a little trick lightly rub a crayon over the disk ,,old pantyhose works great rub it off from center out then try your disk ,,have saved many good games that way

Sounds like your disc is damaged or dirty. If the program use to run fine but no longer does, it is likely dirty or scratched. You can try to fix it by cleaning it (rub a soft cloth across the bottom from the middle outwards), or by resurfacing it using a CD scratch remover.

Alternatively, it is possible that you have a virus corrupting your install. Run an antivirus program to make sure you are not infected.
