Question about Alpine CDA-9883 CD Player

2 Answers

Have an Alpine CDA-9883 Receiver that was professional installed in a ford focus and worked great. Usually ran the volume at a setting between 10 to 14, out of 35. The car was in an accident, receiver still worked, had it installed professionally (different installer) in a 2005 Nissan Altima. The Altima has a bose speaker system. The problem is you can't turn the volume up past a setting of 2 without losing your hearing. Theirs no mid range on the volume. The shop that installed it said it's because the speakers are so good. This doesn't seem right.

Their doesn't appear to be any adjustment on the amp. The installer is blaming everything on the quality of the speakers. He claims their really good.

You will need to adjust the amp settings on the amp (if you have an amp installed) to decrease the total volume so that you can turn your Alpine up to the 10-14 range for normal listening.

Do you know how the radio was installed?

Did they integrate the factory amplifier... or bypass it?

Check for blown fuses behind the deck and under the hood, sometimes by the battery, you may get lucky but you could have smoked the unit, and would not know anything unless you send it in to get fixed. Replacing the unit could be the answer Alpine CDA-9883 CD Player

My alpine cda 9883

It sounds like it was hooked up incorrectly, and possibly a wire is loose... i would have it checked out professionally before something happens. The other possibility is that it is overheating and is going into "protect mode"... as i said... i would get it looked at professionally.

IPod will not work.

restoring factory settings won't revert the player back to previous ipod software. Check with the alpine website product support and see which ipod software versions are compatible with the car deck you installed. I would think the latest version would be supported. then go to the apple website and download the most recent version of itunes that alpine says is compatible. connect your pod and open itunes. upgrade the pod to that itunes version and try it again with the car deck.
