    Hey Daniel,

I replaced the temp sensor, no change. Any thoughts?

  • David Jones Nov 15, 2010

    The model is RBS305PDB6.

    Thanks

How do I check this switch? I just looked at it and when I move it to the right, the oven light goes off. When I close and open the door, the light goes on and off as expected.

Previously, this morning, I ran the "clean" cycle for a few minutes and the door locked and unlocked as one would expect.

Hi
When the oven does not heat the issue is with the oven temp. sensor that is bad and you need to replace it. You can test the oven temp. sensor for 1100 ohms and replace if the voltmeter reads less than this. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hope you understand...both the bake and broil element can't go bad together so as the oven temp. sensor is already replaced, please check the door latch/switch if thats working fine.

That was the correct way of checking/testing the door switch, you can also check these diagrams that will help you. Hope you understand...both elements won't go bad at the same time. If the door switch latch appears fine then it is the electronic control nothing else.

My whirlpool oven model RBD245 is locked after the self cleaning cycle, it does not heat up even if i open the latch with a tool?

Whirlpool have the self clean latch assembly solenoid go bad and wont return back to unlock the switch to tell the control is is no longer in self clean. Replace the self clean latch assembly or make sure the switch on the assembly is in the non self clean mode, If the oven starts working then you know the problem if it still doesn't work then there may be other issues.

My oven is less than a year old. I ran a self cleaning cycle on it and now it will not heat up. There is power to it because the light comes on inside. Do you have any ideas about what might be wrong with...

Self cleaning features on all ovens tend to blow fuses.
It is best to use a oven cleaner rather than the self clean feature.
Your oven has a fuse on the rear of the oven that must be replaced.
You must unplug the range and remove the rear panel to access the fuse.
Use a volt/ohm meter to check the fuse.
No reading on continuity is a bad fuse.

My built-in electric oven will not heat now, following the self-cleaning cycle I ran yesterday.

Frustrating no doubt. There are several things that can cause this and they vary by manufacturer and model. Sometimes the high heat causes a fault in the temperature sensor or its wiring. Other times it causes the control board to fail. We repair a lot of control boards that fail after a self-clean cycle. If you post more details: make, model, any other observations I may be able to shed more light. Or you can email me details at bruce@fixyourboard.com.

Oven won't heat

Unplug the power cord for thirty minutes, this should reset the oven.
If this still does not work do the following:
Press clean and then cancel. This will reset the appliance.

If the error does not clear , then during the self cleaning cycle, the high temperature has probably damaged the temperature sensor probe, and it must be replaced.

Thermador SM272 - Oven not heating after self clean cycle

Your repairman might be right but I would have checked the main heating element first for this reason: The self-clean cycle uses that same element as you need for the oven but is allowed to rise to a much higher temperature (~ 900-950 degrees) during the cleaning cycle and it may have self-destructed. Since your problem started after the cleaning cycle, I would have checked the element for continuity first.

OVEN will not heat

KitchenAid KEBC107KSS does not heat hot enough and does not heat evenly. When the temperature is dialed higher, it burns the cookies. When the convection fan is on, it has a 'cooling effect' so the temperature never reaches the proper level. Is this problem repairable? Or is this a thermostat issue? Thank you for your help!
