Now that you have a new cell phone you have to change the passkey as well. Search the two devices in each other and when you connect the two, it will ask for the pass key. give the same passkey in both and they will connect. Then you can authorize them to connect always without having to give the passkey every time.

I need the passkey to pair my nokia 6350 bluetooth with my cellphone. I do not have the passkey. Please help

When you are pairing any two 'smart' devices, such as phones, computers, and such, i.e. devices which act as bluetooth 'hosts', in the device which you will use to start the pairing process, you can choose any digit sequence you can think of (e.g. you can specify the most common passkey used by 'dumb' devices, i.e. 0000 (four zeros)), provided that in the device which is receiving the pairing request, i.e. the other 'smart' device of yours, you specify that same passkey. You don't need to worry if the passkey you choose is too simple (like the one I've suggested above), because, once the devices are paired to each other, all subsequent connections between them will be encrypted.
I apologize if I havn't made myself much clear here, since english is not my natural english.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you out any further.
Regards, Carlos

How to connect to laptop?

Hello,

You can connect Nokia 2690 using bluetooth and using Nokia connectivity Cable CA-101 which will fit to the USB port of your laptop.

(NOKIA connectivity cable)

Procedure on how to connect:

1. Bluetooth (This will work with the laptop with bluetooth)

First, remember to turn on the Bluetooth feature and make it discoverable by other devices (My Phone's visibility -> Shown to all) on cell phone, so that it can be detected by laptop.

Then, click on the add devices in the control panel of your computer. Click start> control panel

2. Add Bluetooth Device Wizard window will appear, tick My devices is set up and ready to be found and click Next.

3. The wizard will then search the Bluetooth devices nearby, and will show the found devices. Here the wizard found my cell phone named David. Click the device you want to add, after that click Next.

4. Ok. Here the wizard will ask whether you need a passkey to add your device, so that the communication data between laptop and cell phone will be encrypted later, here I would recommend you to either select Choose a passkey for me or Let me choose my own key. In this example, I select choose a passkey for me.

The wizard will then show the passkey and you need to key in to your cell phone. After that, the laptop will try to install the Bluetooth device. If you have Bluetooth program for your cell phone, you can install it as Windows Vista might have problem to install the device . For my case, I install Nokia PC Suite on the laptop, so I can transfer wallpapers and videos later.

Note: Also your cell phone will get the prompt to accept connection from laptop, and you need to click yes.

5. At last, click Finish to complete the Add Bluetooth Device Wizard.

6. And now, you will see the new bluetooth device added which is your Nokia 2690 phone.

Here's another way on how to connect your cellphone to your laptop.

2. Hard Connection using Nokia connectivity Cable CA-101

carloadrian_7.jpgYou can get this from any nokia stores.

Procedure:

Just connect the other end of the wire to your cellphone and the other end to the usb port in your laptop. Follow the onscreen instructions in your cellphone.

Check your laptop if your cellphone has been detected, once it's connected you can then access your pictures or other files in your cellphone. You can even transfer files.

I hope this helps.

Please rate this solution. Don't forget to leave your comments/suggestions on how I can improve my service.

Thanks..

My phone does not find the 2XXPlantronics device. It worked fine until this week and now where 2XXPlantronics was under devices it says unknown device. Is this because this model has been discontinued?

Your phone, most probably, lost the pairing data for your headset. Delete that 'unknown device' on your phone's paired devices list. Then, turn your headset on and put it in pairing mode, by pressing and holding the call button untill the indicator light flashes in red and blue. It will stay in pairing mode for a couple of minutes. Whilst in that mode, make your phone search for new devices. After a little while, your headset should appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). You see, the pairing process between any two bluetooth enabled devices should be perfomed just once. All subsequent connections should be achieved by bringing them with each other's reach (with their bluetooth radios turned on, of course). At most, a simple press on the call button should do the job.

Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.

By the way, if your headset's user guide happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location.
Regards,
Carlos
