Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. I hate to say leave it alone and make sure you have it serviced by a factory authorized service center but that is exactly what you must do. Otherwise you will void the warranty. This unit comes witha 1 year hassle free replacement warranty. This is their warranty statement:

"KitchenAid is so confident about the quality of our products that if your appliance should fail within the first year of ownership, we will deliver an identical or comparable replacement to your door free of charge. We will also arrange to have your failed appliance returned to us. Your replacement is covered by our one-year full warranty as well. KitchenAid offers this Hassle-Free Replacement Policy to the purchaser for one full year from the date of purchase. We may require a dated receipt to verify the purchase date"

Where Can I Get Help with my Mixer? KitchenAid customer service is always very helpful and you can call them at 1-800-541-6390, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. EST, Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. EST, for anything about your Artisan series stand mixer (or any other KitchenAid appliances you may have) They will help you with questions on how to use and care for it, what to do if you encounter problems and even recipes.

Call them during the hours listed above and they will handle the warranty details. Just make the call and do not do anything to the mixer. You really have no other alternative.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.
Kelly

Proctor silex hand mixer, brand new, just out of box, worked fine for quick on/off test, and then...NOTHING. Wont turn on?? Store is closed until tomorrow, I NEED it for what hv to cook tonight!!

Are the beaters installed? some of the newer ones require the beaters to be inserted fully. Try unplugging from the wall then remove and re-insert the beaters. Then plug it back in and try it.

If not, it might be the motor. These are very inexpensive($12 on amazon) and are known for problems. I would plan on buying another and returning this one if the beater thing doesnt work.

The cpu of my Mackie D8b no longer recognizes the keyboard or mouse and won't boot up.This problem just started after many years of trouble free use.

had the same problem once after a new install it still did not work

turned out to be the keyboard itself had a cable that wat broken solderd it and it worked again you can test this with a multimeter to see if the cables are still connected to the connector goodluck

My motor doesnt seem to go round freely

Does the beater shaft turn when there is no load? (bowl is empty) Or it will not turn at all?

It sounds like you have a stripped gear. Your mixer has a nylon/plastic gear inside the mixer and that is 99% of the time what goes wrong. You will want to open the mixer up and inspect all of the gears, but most likely you will need to replace the worm gear, part number W10112253.

Here at MendingShed.com we sell Genuine KitchenAid parts and the items can be found on our website.

Here is a link to that gear: http://www.mendingshed.com/kawormgear.html

You may also want to replace the grease and gearbox gasket while you have the mixer opened up.

We also have a service manual posted on our website which will aid in taking the mixer apart and putting it back together properly.

My 325 watt, 5 quart artisan stand mixer won't work on "stir" speed. All other speeds work fine, but when I put the switch on stir, I just hear the motor whining like it's trying to work, but...

By not working to mean that the planetary gear wont move? or does it just make a weird noise when it is on a low setting? If the gear is completely stripped the unit shouldn't run on any speed regardless if there is mixture in the bowl or not. Since I can't see the mixer I would say that there might be a slight tear in the gear which would only allow the mixer to get stuck on a slow speed where as on a high speed it is running fast enough to skip that particular tooth. I understand that the mixer is brand new but when it comes to mixers you can strip a gear right out of the box depending on the consistency of the batter you are mixing. If the machine is under a year old it is under warranty and you are allowed free service by an authorized repair center in your area.

Leaking oil from drive/mixer head

There could be one of two things wrong (or both). You might need a new seal or you might just need the machine to be regressed. Also, never keep your mixer stored on its side as this will automatically allow the machine to leak grease.

My brand new KitchenAid Food Processor 5KPM50 doesnt start

If it indeed is brand new call Kitchenaid and tell them about it. They will ask for the serial number which is underneath the mixer. If it is less than one year old they will send you a new one. 800-422-1230

Make sure that the outlet you are using is good by plugging something else into it!!
