You will have to go to the PC manufactures site and put in your model number and you should be able to download all drivers originally installed on your PC from there

Adding discrete graphics card to p6stp-fl

!O_O!

1) Unplug the computer from power.

2) Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 10 seconds. Let go. (HAS to be 10. Count)
Do this same procedure TWO more times.
(IF the Power On LED flashes for a second, keep repeating until it doesn't)

What you are doing is clearing CMOS Error Codes, and resetting BIOS Setup parameters back to the factory default settings.

3) FOLLOWING Anti-Static Precautions remove the graphics card.
Plug the monitor back into the Integrated (OnBoard) graphics, of the motherboard. (VGA connector)

4) Plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

5) When Windows has loaded wait a couple of minutes, then take that graphics card's Installation (CD) Disk, and put it in the optical drive.

If the disk doesn't start loading after 10 seconds, go to My Computer, and double-click on the drive letter, next to the optical drive, the Installation Disk is in.

When asked choose all software. Nvidia Control Panel, and drivers.

Your computer will keep on using the Integrated (OnBoard) drivers, for graphics. It will Not use the drivers, and software you are installing now, until the graphics card is physically installed.

Install all software. If you are asked to restart your computer -> NO
Close all windows, go back to your desktop screen.
Turn the computer off normally.
(Start > Turn Off Computer > Turn Off)

6) Unplug from power, follow Anti-Static Precautions.
Unplug the monitor from the motherboard. Physically install the graphics card.
Plug the monitor into the graphics card. Close the computer case.

7) Plug into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.
You may have to go into Nvidia Control Panel, and set the correct parameters for your monitor. (Screen Resolution / Color quality )

Clear CMOS Error Codes, and reset BIOS Setup back to factory settings doesn't work?
You get to go back into BIOS Setup, and set the submenu you changed, (Or submenu's), back to the factory standard setting.
(F6?)

You are trying to use the OnBoard graphics drivers for the -> graphics card. This = NO.
You need THE drivers for the graphics card installed F-I-R-S-T.

(OnBoard. ON the motherBOARD.
Used to be used for Integrated Graphics.
Makes it easier to understand if you use OnBoard Graphics )

Why?

When a device, (In this case a graphics adapter card), is installed, Windows 'breaks it's neck' to find suitable, matching drivers.
If THE drivers are not there, Windows will match up one of it's THOUSANDS of generic drivers.

This = No.

You need THE drivers already installed. Windows looks to see what device is installed, then finds THE drivers needed.

I installed the en8400gs512m into an older compaq with onboard video and audio. after i installed the videocard i no longer had onboard audio. when i removed the en8400gs i had onboard audio back. how can...

I suppect this is a driver problem. Install the EN8400GS in your computer and then install the drivers for it if you haven't already done so. What you want to do is to reinstall the on-board audio drivers for your mainbaord. They can be found on the CD disk that came with your computer, or they can be downloaded form the manufactures website.

Alternatively it could aso be possible that their is a BIOS option to enable on-board audio when a graphics card is installed. Press delete repeatedly on powering on your computer.

Take care!

Ive installed the ati his radeon ice q graphics card and my computer will not boot,Why?

hook monitor cable back to your onboard video port then 1st make sure you have already downloaded the driver for your new graphics card. then at start up go into system setup and go to your display and make sure that you have your new graphics card enabled as your primary graphics instead of onboard video. it will say something like 1.Onboard 2. AGP/OR PCI MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE YOUR ONBOARD ENABLED AS YOUR PRIMARY VIDEO. AFTER THAT JUST SAVE AND EXIT THE JUST HOLD POWER BUTTON DOWN TILL PC SHUTS DOWN THEN SWITCH YOUR CABLE MONITOR CABLE FROM THE ONBOARD TO THE AGP/PCI CARD THEN RESTART YOUR PC. THEN YOUR PC WILL SAY FOUND NEW DATA AND WILL INSTALL THE DRIVER YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED FOR IT THEN YOU SHOULD BE OK IF THE CARD IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE MOTHERBOARD

I don't believe your system came with a high end Nvidia card and the card was offered as an option. If you are haviing problems with this card, I would uninstall everything and start over and this is the proceedure I would follow. Do not disable your on board graphics until after were done. I would uninstall all sapphire, ATI/AMD software and start from scratch on install, make sure you restart after the uninstall and check "programs and features" to make sure all software is out. Initially you want to get your drivers and utilities from the installation cd if you have it This will give you all the bells and whistles that come with the card. If you don't have the cd you can get your drivers here;
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/downloads/download_index_01.aspx?psn=0006
You would want the first three in the list, even if you don't use the first one, then restart. You can then do a custom uninstall of your graphics driver and Catalyst Control Center and upgrade them here;
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_xp-32.aspx#2
You would want the first three in this listbut, lets do this first. If you can download from cd or from Sapphire, do your installs and restart. Now disable your on board graphics. Try your system now and check for the red lines. If you still have them, make sure your resolution is adjusted correctly in the Catalyst Control Center. If the red lines and flickering are now gone, you can either live with it the way it is or you can do the custom unistall and reinstall as mentioned above through AMD, I personally would do it right away but, you don't have to right now. Anytime you want to upgarde you video driver from now forward I would do it through AMD and, if your updating your driver you shaould also update your Catalyst. This will take some time and is a little bit of a pain but, it's worth it in the end. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions

I'm not sure if I understand clearly, you are having problems getting the driver cd to install?
Try a manual run by inserting the cd then go to Start>Run- then browse for the drive where the cd is located and then select open, you may need to choose install.exe of there isn't a setup.exe option

Resolution Problem

you need to be installing a graphics driver for your onboard graphics or your graphics card, the monitor driver won't change the resolution, when you installed XP there wouldn't have been a graphics driver installed, only a VGA driver to enable a 800 x 600 resolution.

Find out your card manufacturer or your onboard graphics or use the cd that came with the motherboard or card.
