Curser will not move - Computers & Internet

You didn't mention if you had a wireless mouse or a wired one. If wireless this usually means the battery is too low in the mouse and needs to be replaced even though it looks like it is working fine because lights are on. If you have a multimeter, you can check the battery, but you will find it is too low and needs to be replaced.

If the batteyr replacement does not result is the cursor working again, check the receiver that is plugged into a USB port to see if it is plugged in correctly. Sometimes it gets bumped and is no longer aligned and just needs to be unplgged and plugged back in again.

If you have a wired mouse, please update the information in this problem to include make and model, version of Windows you are running and anyhting else that will help isolate the problem.

If the above wireless information was helpful, please close out the question as resolved.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If you are using the touch pad and the cursor will not move, you may want to try and use a mouse. The touch pad on your computer may have worn out. If the mouse works, it may be your pad.

Please check to make sure that touch pad button is on. If the mouse will not move the cursor, your drivers may have been corrupted and you have to download new drivers after uninstalling the old one. Which one you download will depend on what type of computer you have.

Thank you for asking FixYa!

To select click and drag the curser over the item you wish to copy (it will change to a different color) with the curser still in the colored bit RIGHT click your mouse, scroll down to COPY. Wireless mouse curser does not move new batteries installed

If the mouse totally stop working like left/right click, moving, etc then i suggest replace the battery of your mouse and try. If the same result then again install the driver & restart the netbook.
Thanks waiting for your feedback.
