That might be the problem, however what I would suggest is that you unplug the TV open the back look for a fuse remove the fuse (if you can, it might be soldered in) and then with an ohmmeter set to 1xR measure the resistance it should be 0 ohms. If it is not then that is the problem. If the meter reads 0 ohms then you will have to put the fuse back in and at this point I would suggest that you either replace the TV or take it to a repair shop.

I hope this helps

Thank you,

    Hello Honda3,

It looks like that fuse might be good because it is under 1 ohm. which shows that the fuse is good. No reading or ------ would have meant the fuse was bad. So it looks like the fuse is good. Now this means that you will have to have the TV set looked at by a shop because you might be having a problem with your Horizontal output circuit because it is used to derive some of your lower voltages from.

If the color are separated then you need a new convergence board, or have it repair. If the controls are not working correctly then the processor could have some garbage in it, do to a small power surge, and you will need to leave the set unplug from the wall for 40Min. and it will reset back to normal.

RCA 61 INCH REAR PROJECTION MODEL # P61929 PUSH

The first place to start is the outlet and check to be sure it has power. The next is to check / replace the main internal (to the tv) fuse - it's a 5A 250V GMA fuse (google image of GMA fuse). To find the fuse, unplug the set and remove the back cover of the TV - follow the power cord to where it enters - the fuse is located to the right and slightly ahead of where the power cord is attached to the board.

Rca p46813bl convergence problem bowed in the

OK., I know this set very well. It almost never has a convergence problem.

With the set unplugged, remove the back cover--there is a small circuit board mounted ABOVE the main boards--it is about 10 inches wide and 4 inches tall---On the far right side of it are several DIODES---two are much larger then the rest--what usually happens is one of the large diodes is shorted--5 dollar part---the board only has a few plugs and 4 screws that hold it in---easy to remove--check all the diodes(the two large ones first)

If either of the large diodes read like a fuse you FOUND YOUR TROUBLE.

LET me know if you need ANY help or Advice--I am here to help people---I have seen several sets identical to yours with the problem you describe.

Try removing the Green CRt PC voard that is on the bottom of the green Picture tube which is the center one. Then replace the fuse and see if your set powers up if it does you need a new gree tube. Just be sure the crt board doesnt touch anything while you try it. then let me know what happened, if you need a tube they arent available new any longer but I have a source for good used picture tubes,

RCA p46813BL with no picture but good sound

The good news is your set has a picture therefore is not an output transistor, the problem your set has is a signal processing problem,no video of any source is being processed,is just a different kind of problem and for that you will need the assistance of a servicer to diagnose, try taping where the cables conect to the tv if the set reacts the loose conection is close to that imput panel but if it does not be safe and call for help.
