Question about Microwave Ovens
Hi, Microwave Oven Basic Troubleshooting Tips
The water may have contributed, but probably not...
As to what poped... it is hard to say exactly without having it opened in front of me...my guess is either the high voltage transformer or the magnetron it's self...
Either way you are looking at a very expensive repair...if the parts are available...
Till you pay the parts and the labor to fix it you will be very near the cost of a new one...

Hi, if your unit microwave runs but is buzzing very loudly and not heating up, then you have problems with the magnetron, the high voltage capacitor, or the power diode. These components are all high voltage components and need to be treated with great care. A good technician knows how to diagnose and repair them safely....
